iphone 5 camera has funny mark

didn't know how else to describe it tbh but it's only started today.

Basically the camera has a mark on when wanting to take photos. it looks like a small purple mark right near the middle of the photo (as shown) but doesn't show on normal operation (apps etc).

I've cleaned it numerous times and rebooted yet it still remains. Nothing seems to be on the screen (from what i can see anyway)

Phone is only 5 months old. Will apple try and repair this or just replace the handset? Never dealt with apple service before (nothings ever broke before).

and then as if by magic or should i say a frustrated slep on my leg a few times, it has gone!!! must have been a spec of dust inside the camera. Should i still speak with apple or just leave it?

If you're able to, go to Apple with the evidence you've posted and get it swapped in store.

If it is resolved they probably won't do anything unless you have proof. It's not there now so if it does happen again explain to them it went away then come back and ask them to do a replacement.

You won't have any problem and something like this Apple will just replace it for you with no questions asked.

looks to me like red fluff and its moving about in the lens, unless you have a case that covers your lens.

Its quite possible to open the lens and remove it, but you may get more dust in it and it will mess up your warranty.

Hi this exact problem occurred with me a few weeks back, every photo I took had a black smudge similar in size. I took it to the AppStore in Westfield and they gave me replacement on the spot no problem.
