1 handed games?

Hey man, not actually having a left arm I know how some games can be a bit annoying like that, one thing I will say is check out some flight simulator pedal sets, you can get some that move on multiple axis and so can do a wide range of things.

Also as strange as it sounds, old style Atari/Amstrad joysticks like this:

Can easily be operated with a foot for WASD control.

thats not amstard/atari! thats a zipstick!

Well I used it on the Amiga but there might have been a Atari ST version

Didn't the zipstick have red buttons? (I used to have one.. they were fab).. in fact it's still in the loft I'd wager.

Good luck with your search for an appropriate controller. Perhaps you should talk to gareth on here for controller advice?

well had the pain since decemeber, its getting worse each day.

hopefully getting steroid injections from the GP soon. hopefully, that will fix it worst case surgery. hopefully wont come to that.

this thread was mearly for my current situtation. i can play games perfectly with 1 finger on wasd i remap everything else to 1-12 on the mouse

jump crouch etc.

thank you for your help and if you think of any more please feel free to update the thread.

im not going to lie the pain is getting stupid now, imagine anything touching your arm gives you extreme pain. my bed cover touched me early the pain was so bad my eyes watered.

it really does make my arm breakage look meh.....(broke my elbow/wrist)

If you like driving games a wheel and pedals might be a good investment as you can probably do that one-handed using auto gearbox. You can even use pedals in FPS games for forward/back etc, for a laugh I messed about in Quakeworld with one, it was pretty cool actually because you could run at different speeds which isn't normally possible :)

the red button version came first. The main difference on the ziptsttick (as well the the yellow buttons) was micro switches so the buttons clicked. The version you are on about had round buttons that didn't click? I can't remember what that was called,

Loads and loads of RPG's, even in action ones like Diablo you'll have no disadvantage if you have a mouse/controller with enough buttons for the few essentials.
There are all manner of weird and wonderful input devices out there and many people in your position.

Tropico games can be played one handed, I'm not a massive strat-head but really enjoyed being an island dictator :D

3 and 4 are great games, either one, though 4 is better in some respects

What if there was a mouse with a small thumbstick where you would place your thumb on the side and maybe a button near your pinky for jump? That sounds like a mouse I actually wouldn't mind trying haha.

Would make aiming a nightmare in all but the most sedate shooters. I tried having jump binded to right click in Quake 3 for a while, it really messes with your aim having to press anything whilst lining up a shot imo
