Audi owners in here!

Good for you.Im a car enthusiast, I dont :p If Dull and comfy is the main criteria, just buy a Toyota Avensis and save the wonga.

What auto gearbox is used in the automatic A5 3.0L TDI's pre 2009/10 before they introduced the S Tronic box? Some people are advertising them as S Tronic but I'm pretty sure this isn't the case.

With the 3.0TDI it was the 7-speed S-Tronic (previously called DSG), or the 6-speed manual.

See page 20 of this 2010 brochure.

Your back must be broken. I never feel anything other than fresh when I step out of the car.

On a separate note, I don't know if I should order the "black edition" grille, and some "rotor" wheels. I was playing around in Photoshop, and the results were pretty nice IMO.

The black optics grill is on my to-do list as well. The rotor wheels would look much better than what is currently on yours.

Here's a 'shop with those, plus Xenons.

The black optics grill is a must. They really set the car of a treat. I picked mine up from ebay for a mere 40 notes. Not sure how much they are new tho.

Im not a fan of the blades tho, theres so many knock offs about that its cheapened the look now. But there are some nicer wheels in audi options catalogue. Is yours a TDIe? They sit 20mm lower than the standard diesels, so do look good with a bigger wheel upgrade.

Really like the look of that mate.

I don't like the wheels, we have the same car as a pool car at work and just think the wheels make the car look naff!

Wohoo, yes it is a TDIe, and does have "sports suspension", and I agree it would be set off a treat with some larger wheels.

I'm open to wheel suggestions, whatever I get will be genuine Audi, and my current wheels will have some winter tyres fitted (for my Alpine trips before anyone pipes in with "OMG UK Winter Tyres LOL").

Anyone here own a Audi A4 1.8T 190 QUATTRO SPORT? Im thinking of going to look at a few of these, years 2003 and 2004 going for around £4k, any advice would be most welcome.

Wouldn't it have been cheaper to have it as an factory option? They just look so much better than the halogen lamps.

Will be interested to see how you get on fitting them, a friend asked me to look into upgrading his B8 non facelift to led/xenons a while back, im guessing the principle will be the same,

Not at all. As I explained in the "Show Us Your Motors" thread, I got a hefty discount (on my Silver one) for taking group stock, which meant I had to take a "standard" SE Technik. The replacement was like for like (barring heated seats).

So far, the parts have cost me £450~ (headlight units, ballasts, bulbs, kufatec wiring loom).

I'll keep the thread up to date with progress.

IIRC its about a £700 upgrade when buying new. So I guess its still a decent saving at £450.

Obviously I still have some more to spend (two different amounts depending on if I want to bother fitting the headlight washers - I might not as that involves either a new bumper, or modding mine to have the cutouts for the washer jets), as I still need the parts for the Auto-Levelling.

Auto-Levelling on its own should run me to about £550~ (including the bits already purchased).

Doubt I'll bother with the washer jets, as i'll probably return the car to stock before I trade it in.
