I'm just back from the show today and like last year I took some pictures but in the absence of a pictures thread I thought I'd start my own.
Another enjoyable show I thought, things that impressed me were -
I visited the OCLuk stand hoping to buy a mug, but was informed that unfortunately none had been brought as they were too fragile, so I'm gonna get one from the website. Felt the stand wasn't quite as good to walk round last year - wanted to see more custom made rigs on display - however the booth babes were stunning - I should have taken some pics of them - hopefully some kind soul will oblige.
While I remember too, I don't remember it being as busy as it has been in previous years, I'm wondering if it's the Christmas live show they are also doing now has afected this.
Anyway onto the pics in no pacticular order -
Enough from the Overclockers stand - more to follow in the next post from other parts of the show....
Another enjoyable show I thought, things that impressed me were -
- the first appearance of 3D printers at affordable prices. Whilst the quality of them probably needs refinement, they still produced some impressive results.
- the remote controlled flying drones (AR.Drone 2.0) with HD mounted cameras - pretty cool.
- the Sony 84inch 4k TV - they didn't have a full 4k moving picture signal to show off the quality but they did have some stunning static images and an almost 4k input which all looked really impressive.
- Holographic projector system running Arkham City in 3D on a big screen - looked and sounded great.
- Paper made from rock - waterproof and you could write on it in pencil underwater and rub it out again.
- modded Toyota Supra - bloke spent over 80 grand on it.
- JVC DLA-X55R - the image not as impressive as the 4k TV but still pretty good.
- the overclocking with liquid nitrogen at the Overclockers stand - was there where an overclock of 6.4GHz was achieved giving a 3dmark11 score of about 48k (I think). Oh and the car racing three screen setup was good too.
