Thats a good point actually, it was pretty much at the height of famine IIRC that they aquired many of their most advanced aircraft which are probably one of if not their highest military spending - those mig-29s would have cost them in the region of $60million each atleast.

Like i said a few pages back the UK seem to have a 1950's view of China.

North Korea is more similar to a religious state than to anything else, since it is a clear personality cult, and I wouldn't really label it as a communist regime, in the true sense of the word.

Back on topic though, having just looked at SK's air force itinerary, I doubt they would even need the USAF's help to deal with NK's air force, NK has 40 MiG-29's and a bunch of really old stuff. SK has almost 170x F16's (the US equivalent of the "29") plus 60x F15's, 70x F4's and 170x F5's.

After watching that dreadful propaganda filled video of the NK "air force" I really know why everyone simply ignores them. It would be like England playing San Marino again if they fought in the air!

That's a mighty beefy air force SK have got themselves. How does that compare to our own? I'd imagine substantially larger?
Well, not counting old junk, as far as fighters go we just have slightly over 100 Typhoons and ~120 Tornados, you could also include our 66 Apaches in that as they are quite capable of downing a lot of NK's older hardware.
So again, NK air force, no chance, but those MiGs would be able to worry our Tornados so their best left to the Typhoons to deal with. If you were wondering how the RAF measure up to SK then IMO (talking as somebody who's actively into aircraft not just some random keyboard warrior who can operate Wikipedia), then I would give us the advantage, they may have the numbers but we have the more advanced planes, plus its not WW2, planes don't kill planes missiles do.
