Alloy Wheel Repair

Ay, think i am going to ring these guys up. When they say they do a brake caliper 'refurbish' does that mean they take the caliper off and do it properly?
Nope, just painted... it was never originally part of their package, but what customers were finding was, slap the alloys on and they looked a mess so, they said we'd paint them and touch them up. Mine look spot on and the wifes... (I got black, she had yellow)... no flaking or anything but they're literally a clean, quick rub down and paint. The alloys on the other hand are really done to an inch of their life and I believe now get a two year warranty... sure John said they did.

Yep, 2 year warranty, although he did say he had one customer who drove straight into the kerb outside his shop when driving off.. pretty sure that invalidated his warranty :p

OMFG... really rofl... quality. Funnily enough my son's just been dropped off there to work in a new job... so, hopefully he'll be able to get me a discount lol

Yeah, he mentioned it when he asked me if I was ok driving it out - having reversed the barge of a mondeo out of there twice getting the TT out forwards wasn't too tricky :)

Doesn't seem to suggest F1 do wheels larger than 19" but there are some cars in the gallery that clearly are larger. Does anyone know?

Out of interest, was the local firm you initially took it to Pro-Clean (or the people that used to be Pro-Clean at any rate)? Those guys have an awesome reputation, I was going to get my 2nd set of alloys refurbed there but your results look very good...

Not sure, it's http://www.nationalalloys.co.uk/ in Widnes I rang first - they did my Parents' MX5 wheels years ago and did a good job.

If that was aimed at me, thanks, but a bit late to the party :D

Thought it might be helpful to anyone else reading the thread looking for places to get a wheel repaired, sure with the number of potholes around you won't be the only person wanting a repair.

Atomic are very local to me and are currently doing a refurb on my Subaru Prodrive wheels and have been very helpful helping out my work colleague who has a Mini Cooper S. Personal recommendation is always good :D
