Lamborghini Miura SV burns to the ground

Yes, that would have been sensible.

On a slightly related note, a garage mechanic wrote off a 300sl a couple of weeks ago in Germany. I bet the owner or the garages insurer weren't too happy.

I actually cringed when I saw that picture. Poor Benz. :(

Lets be honest, if you can rebuild a 70 year old Ferrari from a rusted chassis found in a barn or restore a Bugatti found at the bottom of a lake after half a century, a burnt Lambo or smashed up Merc is repairable.

How gutting. My Anglia caught fire and was saved by a passing trucker who had a fire extinguisher in his cab. I always carry a small fire extinguisher now.

I had a 3.0S Capri which caught fire when the rubber power steering pipe fouled on the exhaust pipe. I luckily had a small extinguisher though and it was out in no time.

Oooo

I always got told you had no chance putting out a car fire with those extinguishers and never bothered . Maybe I will now

I couldn't watch it all :(

The Miura has been my favourite car since I was a teenager (30 years ago ). I know it's just a car, but there's something really special about them.

As do I. I also carry a 650 litre watertank with what could be used for firefighting... :D
