E60 M5 Spark plugs

Good work Danny, I don't know why people are scared to work on these cars, to me it's just another engine. If you can DIY without affecting the resale value of the car than why not?

Thanks, yeh to me I just think its a normal naturally aspirated engine. The SMG gearbox scares me though lol

Nice work Danny, looks like those plugs needed doing. How about the air filters?

SMG gearbox is fine, its the hydraulic bit attached to the side of it that is scary :D

Ordered the air filters

Also, I would like to thank TW Fox for sending me that link to maindealerdiscount, you've saved my quite a bit of money on future jobs, Even though you may dislike me thought I'd say thanks anyway

Don't be daft - its just the internet :)

it's a good site to keep an eye on, when it first launched I had an oil service, rear discs and rear pads done by a main dealer for 200 quid :D

What gap do the new plugs come preset at? (its not a test, im just interested to know, the old plugs look a fair bit beyond 1mm)

The new ones looked a couple of MM, Yeh the old ones are worn out so gap was bigger then the new ones

New ones are 0.9mm, those old ones look wayyyy more than that.

does it drive different?

Just for you Matt

Yes I think it feels more responsive but that may be just in my head

you cant be that much of a bad guy, it takes pics to compare worn plugs.

ive got loads of pics of various plugs are various mileages as they do give a good indication of how an engine is running

My friend, I dont have a bad bone in my body

Ive never sold or bought drugs in my life, never stolen or beat someone up, or been arrested

Sure a few years ago i sold a dicky motor on ebay used abit more oil then it was supposed to, but karma has come round and got my since i bought a car a few months after that blew up. I addmitted my wrong doings and havnt done it since

Ive never seen instructions to gap a multi electrode plug, but i have seen come out of the box with the tip damaged, so it is always worth checking, particularly if in Dannys case you need a lot of disassembly to remove them all.

Interestingly, some plugs have anti seize on them too, some people still put anti seize paste on them. Some people don't bother either way. Funny old world. Cracking effort btw Danny. I do affectionately call you dodgy Danny, but its more a term of endearment :D

Oh and your rocker cover gasket will need doing soon. That is a pig too.
