E60 M5 Spark plugs

Not supposed to be but I doubt DannyW is the only trader who does this, not by a long shot :p

Buying an M5 and selling it 6-18 months later doesn't sound much like being a trader to me :p

It sounds like 'buying a car and then selling it later when you dont want it anymore' :p

I always wondered if there were any conditions you had to meet to fill in the transfer to motor trade part of the v5.

My old golf, I sold to a local chap who claimed to be a dealer and filled in that section of the v5 and kept the main part himself. But it was on ebay the same day with pictures from outside a council house!

Haha did you sell it to me?? (Cept the council house part)

Yes I have a traders policy, I am vat registered and people who buy cars know I'm a trader it's abit obvious any way when they turn up and there is 5 cars on my drive

Someone did that when I sold my 205 years ago. But what's the advantage to them?

Hopefully anyone with some common sense that does buy it will either:

a) ask why the mileage differs from it's last service to now if it's been in the "trade"
b) ask where the last service receipts are for the delta mileage covered
c) not buy it at all

:p

Hello

Ive just changed the spark plugs. It was easy anyone with a brain and the right tools could have done it. So glad I didn't pay for some monkeys to do it, the air filters need changing so just ordered some

Ill uploads some pics later this evening.

It was never about it being hard, it was about it being pointless ending the Full BMW Service History on an M5 when a main dealer would do the job for about 100 quid more than you paid for the parts.

I'd be amazed if you couldnt get at least 100 quid more for an M5 with full BMW SH than you could for one without that.

I'd be interested to see how difficult (or easy) it is on an engine like that. Is there much to be removed before you can get to them? Or is it just a case of removing engine cover, removing coils, removing plugs, replacing plugs?

Dodgy Dave down the road probably has a BMW stamp though, it'll have 'FBMWSH' when it gets to sale time no doubt.

It wasn't £100 though it was £250

I don't like paying people to do a job I can do myself just as well

BMW are changing the brake fluid and oil service that's about £300 I get a stamp in the book next to all the other BMW stamps and a receipt. What I've done is sensible I've saved money without effecting the history or value of the car

I've heard rumours that some BMW garages don't change the 2 back plugs, they are quite tricky to get out. Heard the same rumours about ford garages not change the 3 back ones on the v6 st220

Those rumours were probably from the same place that said that healthy turbos burn oil..
