Defiance - New SyFy series

It does look promising but there's a few things making me wary. Linking it to an MMO game which in their nature are fickle things whether they are a hit or a complete disaster, so if it fails it may impact the show. It's on Syfy, the channel i'd trust the least not to just up and shut it down for no particular reason and replace it with another reality show. And lastly it looks very ambitious to the point that if they haven't got a massive budget for it then it might end up looking cheap and if it does have a massive budget?.. Other shows with huge operating costs haven't made it past the first season lately.

The MMO isn't going to impact on the series until the next season really although you do get to meet and work with the main characters in the game on a couple of missions which will either be shown in the series or not but as for a main impact on the storyline I believe we have to wait.

Good MMOTPS by the way although I am annoyed that you have to pay to get any good looking armor!
 
Aye i realise that, i meant if the MMO ends up a flop like so many of them do these days. Personally i didn't like what i saw of the beta and was quickly bored of it, but then i think i'm just bored of MMO's full stop these days.

The final release is actually a lot more polished and complete than any of the 3 beta tests i was in and I'm finding it a lot of fun! The beta's really didn't do it any justice.
 
There is a 14 min preview episode doing the rounds somewhere which I saw about a week or so ago. I can't seem to find it now :(
