Curious about my temps

Hi all

I have:
i7 3820 @ 4.3ghz
8x4gb Dominator RAM @ 1866mhz
and my Rampage IV Extreme

in my loops (so in all it's 5 blocks).

running of 1 D5 pump with an XSPC bay res.

I have a 240mm rad with 2 Scythe GT 1450's in push (out of the top of the case) and a single 140mm rad on the back of the case (with no fan).

I think my ambient room temp is around 25c

At Idle I'm getting a motherboard temp of 31-33c, CPU around 35c

Both my subzero temps are around 34c.

If i start running prime95 that very quickly (within about 4 seconds) jumps to around 55/56c for my CPU but everything else seems to stay pretty stable.

I assume these temps are pretty good for my ambient temp? since my load dT is 30c and my idle dT is less than 10c?

Mostly I want to confirm this as my loop is quite complex (It's quite tight and running off a single pump), and I'm using the Indigo Xtreme TIM for the first time. I just want to ensure that my application is correct (ish), and i shouldn't be getting much better performance.

Thanks

Looks about right, cpu temps may be a little higher then others in comparison but you have all the ram slots populated which will generate more heat.

Now get rid of that 43x multiplier and get playing with the base and straps!!

Well I only finished the loop the other night, I was running at 43x on my aircooled build with stock timings on my RAM.

I wanted to watercool before I started messing around too much!

So I will return to my previous thread about my RAM timings etc.

Thanks for the quick response!

Hi, your single 140mm rad on the back of the case (with no fan), put even a low rpm fan on it, this will help with air flow in case and cooling your CPU, as your not getting the best out or your 140mm Rad as it is

^ +1... in fact depending on how many other intake fans you have, you might even be sucking warm air IN through this rad and pushing it over your other rad, which would be bad :D

I did understand that when I installed it, it was space that stopped my replacing the 140mm fan.

The problem with that is that to install this I would need to mount it on the outside of the case.

So I need to put some spacers in etc, this is however an option.

My case has:

2x200mm fans (1 on the front of the case and one on the side)
1x120mm fan (mounted on the bottom of the case)
pulling air into the case.

Then the 2 120mm fans pulling air out of the case (Pushing through the radiator) (on the top).

It's possible to switch most of this around if needed...
