Make sure the keyboard/USB pen drive is plugged into the USB2 connections and not USB3.

The keyboard lights up and works when its in the DOS section which says to insert key / drive but the lights / keys stop working once the Gigabyte screen pops up asking me to press F9 F12 etc for BIOS BOOTUP ETC.

yeah the keyboard i assume isnt to fault, i'm asking if you have another one you can try

I had this last night when finishing my build with Gigabyte MB. I had a mouse plugged into my keyboard and the keyboard connected to USB. It didn't seem to like that. Have you got anything plugged into your keyboard.

Maybe worth unplugging all other USB devices and just have the keyboard connected. Found on some laptops certain mice connected a certain USB port wouldn't allow a system to boot.

buttons I connected the Keyboard to all USB ports and have not had any luck.

Sean - I only have the keyboard connected to my system and nothing else.

Still having the same problem guys - any suggestions?

You say you can get into the BIOS?

Why not use a mouse to navigate?

I get into the Gigabyte sceen when im mashing the F12 button on my keyboard. Once the Gigabyte screen loads up prompting me to press F12 for boot stepup F1 for Bios all perepherals stop working so I can't use my keyboard or mouse to move forward at that point.

I managed to solve the problem - apparently there was a problem with using a USB keyboard. I went to the local computer store and got a PS/2 keyboard and everything worked like a charm!
