Does it make any diffence which one you use to connect it to your monitor? Both are at 1080

Sorry if it should be in monitor but wasnt sure which one to put it in

Depends on the monitor itself. I have had older monitors where VGA was just as good as DVI/HDMI, but I notice the VGA quality on some of the newer, cheaper monitors are poor compared to when it's connected via HDMI/DVI.

I was going to make a thread but since i saw this one ill just make it into a post, atm i'm using DVI to my monitor but i was wondering if it would be more beneficial to use HDMI? I tried it once i must admit but the screen size was smaller than my monitor and it was a weird pink/yellow color

GPU. 7950
Monitor. LG 23" 1920*1080

HDMI/DVI are pretty much the same thing, just that one carries sound.
Saying that, I find that DVI has a more 'contrasty' image.

Grab an HDMI cable from the pound shop and see if you can find a difference.

You might notice a small difference in quality using HDMI over VGA. But not much, image might be sharper. I would use HDMI if i had the option, no reason to use an older technology if a newer one is available

:)

VGA is analogue which means it more susceptible to signal interference or degradation with long or poorly wired cables.

HDMI is digital and is basically a sequence of 1s and 0s being sent from one source to another - in general a HDMI either works or doesn't unless you have extremely poor quality cables.

When I first got my U2412M, I tried DispayPort using that same logic and I had so many sleep problems (especially with multi-monitor) that I was grateful to go back to DVI and HDMI.

Newer does usually equal better but there are some caveats.

In addition, as LCD panels are digital it means the VGA signal must be converted form analogue to digital by the monitor before it is displayed, and so the quality of the monitor plays a big factor with how good VGA works.

Ok cheers, as I have it plugged into VGA as my HDMI is plugged into my TV, so might try a DVI to HDMI lead as my monitor only has vga and 2 hdmi

Oh and the card is a 6770 and the monitor is an LG 27" IPS227 I think, not that it makes much difference, but will upgrade the card, just wanting to wait for the 8000 series which seems to be taking forever!!!!
