Samsung Galaxy S3
iPhone 5
Nexus 4
Sony Xperia Z

I'm pretty much out the loop, but I'm coming from a 3GS and pretty much bored with appe.

Can get the S3 or nexus for £15.50pm so it's the front runners ATM.

Thanks :)

Have a look at the HTC ONE mate, just got one myself and an absolutely amazing bit of kit.

By far the nicest made/nicest looking phone on the market on par with the Iphone but gives you so many more features with the best 1080p screen available.

If it has to be out of that list though I would go for the Sony Xperia Z...great phone, relatively new (much newer than the rest) waterproof and a 1080p screen too.

Out of those Android phones the S3 is pretty dated now.

Have a look at the HTC One if it's possible, it's one of the best phones at the moment. If not, then the Xperia Z would be my next shout, then the Nexus 4 after.

Htc one is £30pm, and really cannot justify that kind of outlay.

I'm on a rolling contract £10pm 300min unlimited texts and it does me, problem is my 4 year old 3GS has bit he dust and the excess is £100.

The £15.50 is a great price, right up my street only it's 100mins, which is about what I used (this months 84mins with 3 days left befor billing) only means switching network from Vodafone to T-mobile who I've never used.

Just popped up to Tesco and had the Sony in my hand, it's huge and a bit off putting tbh, suppose I could get used to it but that deal is £25pm, again why I'm drawn to the lower end.

Heard a lot about poor build quality on the nexus, is that true? Screens and back cracking simply off temperature changes. Don't fancy having to claim off my insurance if possible, I get it free via my bank but the excess is high.

So basically price is the most important thing while I fancy having a play around with an android.

Could always get the iphone 5 and sell it on some site and then put what you get towards a HTC one ;)

From that list though, either xperia Z, nexus 4 or GS 3. You want a good camera overall, then get either the XZ or GS 3, you want a nice screen overall then get the GS 3 or nexus 4, despite the XZ being 1080P, it is let down by poor viewing angles and washed out colours (imo).

For £15/month the S3 is a really good phone.

The Nexus has faster insides but the S3 has an AMOLED screen which i prefer. They are very vibrant. The S3 also, supposedly, has a much better camera. It also has a removable battery and SD Card slot which is important for many.

If you like to be at the bleeding edge then the Nexus4 is the way to go. You will always have the latest updates and be getting a great quality phone at a bargain price.

Agh, still no closer to a decision. Anyone shed any light on the cracking nexus backs in heat?

My N4 regularly sits on top of my laptop where it gets pretty damn warm, Also been fine throughout the winter when it was cold.

I think some people just had bad luck.

I have used most of those phones so here imo.

Nexus 4 - Great phone with a crappy camera tbh, in normal day light its nice but once it starts to get a bit dark its crap. The HDR goes someway to fixing this. Software is top notch, battery life is really good since 4.2.2, screen is amazing once you fix it, and I just love the weigth to size ratio, also the very fast.

iPhone 5 - Great screen, really good camera (Behind things like Lumia 920 and HTC One in low light), great build, really good software, very fast.

XZ - Great phone, for the price the SoC is a little dated (Same as the Nexus 4 which is much cheaper device) but it still rather quick. Software isnt to bad, camera is really good, screen is good but with bad viewing angles. The device I find is beautiful but a pain to hold, its very sharp and much large then most other 5" devices.

S3 - Getting a bit old now, but still a solid phone. Good camera, screen, battery life. Removable battery and SD card, and should get 4.2.2 soon.

I currently only a Nexus 4 which I brought from Google for £279 and a 3 Sim only card which cost £15 however came with £79 working out to be an amazing deal. If I had to choice between Nexus 4 and S3 I would go with the Nexus for the software, faster CPU, better screen, the camera is behind thou.

Went with the HTC One on 02 £22pm, 600min unlimited txts & 750mb of data, 24m...£50 for the handset.

Seems a good deal to me, can't wait.

Thanks for all your input everyone, much appreciated :)
