Hey guys, need to get someone a android device (Unless any other platform can run flash well). Needs to be a dual core device so flash doesn't lag as they intend to watch tv show on flash websites in bed. I was original looking at L520 as its a cheap S4 device but I cant find anything about it having Flash online.

Cheers

Flash is not supported any more.

I don't know much about that sort of stuff. But if your friends wants to use itv player and other apps like that they work. think it uses something else

If your friend wants to use it on a Web site it doesn't work. But I think you can download dolphin browser find the apk file install it and it works.

The L520, while a good phone, is not Andorid it's WP8 which does not support Flash. But then neither does Android officially, though you can get it working it's not supported and it can be pretty dodgy. Flash for mobiles is pretty much dead, or at least dying very quickly (and that's a good thing)!

Have you thought about a tablet? They are great for use in bed and around the house, though oviouisly don't function as a phone. The Nexus 7 would be perfect :)

There are Android apps for most channels like BBC, ITV, Sky, even live tv...

You can manually install the latest flash apk, and some flash content will work, but some flash content will also crash out the web browser.

I know from experience*, the flash based livestream.com video streaming applet works fine,

But farmville crashes on load.

So it can be hit or miss depending on what you are trying to do.

Cheapest current dual core android phones are:
Galaxy Ace 2

To search for more, trawl the wiki product pages, looking for dual core CPUs:

(There are more options, I can't think of them right now and hopefully i have given you enough suggestions to get started)

*mother in laws phone. I tried rolling back to ICS, 4.0.4, the last officially supported android With flash os. I also tried rolling forward to JB 4.2.2 Didnt make any difference and flash was still unstable, hence why threy dropped it. Its a POS :p

Edit: If its for watching video streams, would a tablet be better suited?

Im thinking about it something like the N7 would be nice, but her current phone is almost dead, maybe a dumb phone + N7.

I used Flash on my S2 and now on my Nexus 4 (Most newgrounds) and its always smooth for me.

I will also take a look at how the Ace 2 runs.

Thanks all
