i dunno if its me and i shed like a snake or what, but pc is so dusty, i have a corsair 650d and its clogged with dust again, my hover is not cutting the mustard anyone recommend something else? tins of compressed air worth the money? any type of brand that you have found better results?

I have the same problem with my PC. It seems to get extremely dusty very quick.
I was thinking of getting an electric blower rather than keep buying cans of compressed air.
I've seen one called Datavac which looks pretty good (several videos on Youtube).
Take a look and see what you think.

Fan filters?

I have fan filters on all my intakes (granted its only the front 180mm and PSU fan) and I get very little dust build up inside my case.

Get something called a Rocket Blower, Photographers use them to clean their lens etc... I used mine recently to clear out dust from the fins of a heatsink and it worked brilliantly! They only cost a £5-7 as well.

Basically its a rubber bladder with a tube sticking out, when you squeeze it you get a tight flow of air put down the thin nozzle, worked brilliantly!

Works for me :D

Fan filters are a must.

Any brand of compressed air is good.

Normally order mine at work and say its to clean the PC's so I dont have to pay for it :D

I'm very tempted by the datavac, but the price is a bit steep. I have filters on all my intakes, positive pressure etc, but my case still needs a good clean at least every 2 months. Really I should do it more often. If the datavac were under £30 I'd get it, but £50-60 is a fair chunk just to clean my pc every now and then!

It won't be coming through the top en masse, only when the computer is off or if the fan is blowing in. I had an Antec Mini P180 and never had a dust problem, the filters in front and underneath caught loads of dust though

Oh and hoover + crevice tool + soft paint brush

cheers chaps. the 650d has a massive open top fan, i guess that is where most comes from

Set it as an exhaust? Try playing with your fan setup to see if you can reduce the amount of dust being sucked in through the mesh/cracks/etc and filter the intakes.
