TIM, whats recommended these days?

As per title,

I don't seem to have any around and will be refitting my cooler. Any recommendations?

I personally use the Arctic Cooling MX-4. Most pastes are only around 1-5C difference though.

Stuild done a test on thermal pastes a while back.

Any of these should do you good:

1 x Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound (3.5g) £8.99
1 x Arctic Cooling MX-2 Thermal Compound (4g) £6.98
1 x IC Diamond 7-Carat Thermal Compound (1.5g) £6.98
Total : £25.93 (includes shipping : £2.48).

The IC Diamond is the most expensive but is one of the best you can get. If you do get it, it is quite a thick compound so you should put it in a bowl of hot water for a few minutes to make it easier to apply.

Arctic cooling MX2 isn't bad at all. Decent price and you get a good amount in the tubes.

I'm using Gelid GC-Extreme, it came out very well in the recent thermal paste review on this site. I'm no expert but i'm really happy with it, under load i don't get temps over 52 degrees, on idle i get around 33 degrees on the highest core, most of the others are around 28 degrees.

I usually use Halfords Copper brake grease

but have also had good results with MX-2

Liquid pro/ultra. Yes you have to be very careful when applying it. But it's way ahead of any conventional paste.

MX-2 is hard to beat. Good value for money, non conductive and 8 year durability.

I use MX-2, will buy again when this tube runs out, you get more than enough for the price put it that way.
