Hello again.

I recently bought the Razer DeathAdder 3.5g based on the high amount of praise its received online. I've given it a few days playing around with gaming, etc. and I just don't think I can get used to its shape. I find that my third/ring finger hangs off the mouse 2 very strangely due to the \ / shape of the mouse buttons, which I'm beginning to find very uncomfortable. Due to the shape, I also find myself accidentally hitting mouse 2 in-game when I don't mean to due to the odd finger-hang.

I do however, enjoy the matted texture and simplicity of the DA when you turn off the blinking logo. I like its weight and other features. It's just the shape doesn't seem to agree with me.

I'm now considering a few other mice to try. The obvious suggestions are of course the Logitech G400, G500, etc. but I'm also considering the likes of the Zowie EC2 (or EC1) and the SteelSeries Sensei RAW as I believe these mice may be better suited to my hand size/grip.

Does anyone have an experience or suggestions they would like to share? Did anyone else find the DA uncomfortable?

The death adder is basically the same shape as the MS Habu? I found that pretty comfortable.

The steelseries and Zowie you have linked don't seem too dissimilar in shape, the logitechs are definitely something different though, I have a G700 and it is quite palm filling.

If you are looking for something with a little different shape you could consider a cyborg rat, imo they look awesome too, I personally couldn't get along with it though, the back felt too high.

The best thing I can advise is to get down to PCworld or something similar and try out some mice, that has always been the best way for me to figure out what I'm going to get without purchasing.

I'm fairly sure the G400, etc. would be fine as I've used a very similar mouse to it in the past and found it comfortable. Prior to that I used an old Microsoft basic optical, which looked very similar to the Kinzu.

I think one of the reasons I find the DA uncomfortable is that the high arch shape behind mouse 1 is causing me to have the mouse at a slight angle, facing to about 10 o'clock.

It's the first time I've tried something shaped like the DA. Definitely not a fan of the Cybord Rat! :p

EDIT:

The DA and Habu look almost identical: http://www.esreality.com/files/images/2007/51484-da_and_habu2.jpg

It sounds like you find palm grip right/left hand specific mice uncomfortable to use. Initially I find them comfortable to use but over extended use I find they irritate the palm of my hand, I've just switched to a SteelSeries Sensei RAW rubberised mouse which I'm using on a Roccat Alumic. I had a little play with a Zowie and a Steelseries in the showroom and shape wise they are very similar, the reason I chose the Sensei RAW was because of on the fly DPI/CPI and also because of the high DPI/CPI settings.
I would agree that if you could go somewhere to try different mice shapes it may be helpful, but you could always use OcUK's 14 day satisfaction guarantee.

With the G700 shape I find that I'm at the opposite angle maybe about 1 or 2, but that seems to be the way the mouse was designed as it's not a straight rectangular design.
