Justin Bieber- what a hero

She was a 15 year old girl, I suspect she may well have been a fan of his music, most of them seem to be...I don't think he has done anything worth criticising him over, he simply said 'she was inspiring and hopefully she would have been a fan'...it was a guest book comment by a teenager, and not a disrespectful one at that.

In the guestbook of one of the most famous and tragic figureheads of the holocaust, an innocent's story representing the cruelty of mankind in its darkest hour... hopefully she would have been a belieber.

As innocent as it might have been it's just beyond dumb.

What it says to me:

"She's an inspiring and courageous young woman who had a huge influence on people's understanding and perceptions of WW2"

"Yeah, she must be a fan of mine, coz I'm even more awesome than that"

I don't read it like that at all.....it reads that he thinks she was an inspiring young woman and he hoped she would like his music...I see nothing inappropriate or disrespectful in that at all.

I think people are reading too much into an innocent and respectful comment in a guest book simply because its Justin Beiber.

Indeed, I think it shows a level of arrogance and self involvement which is just quite sad really.

Hve you read that signature book?
So many of the messages in it are bloody awful.

I recall one which started saying they had a lovely day looking at all tne ducks...

Another which called for the jew to stop playing marco polo

Those were on the same page I was going to sign.
The lad has done nothing wrong in his message.
If anything people from the museum should stop seeking publicity by publishing what was written.

Innocent maybe, but the point that you are still missing is that he had the chance to say anything in the guest book, and his thoughts turned mainly to himself. This says a lot about him, even if you can't see it.

This may be true, but because he left such a self centred message (made more so because he actually used the term 'Belieber') in the home of a historically significant, inspirational, and hugely revered person- it just takes the humility out of his message and makes him come across like he's above all of that. Also it's completely unnecessary! There's one thing being in awe etc, but to finish on that line?!

I don't agree with that, I don't think he has done anything wrong. I don't think it is self obsessed or anything disrespectful. I do not see the implied intentions that you do.

I disagree, all he said is that he hoped she would have liked his music...there is nothing wrong or self obsessed about that. I don't think it says anything about him, other than he went to the Museum, was inspired by the young girl and that he hoped she would like his music...that's it, he is a 19 year old pop star, not a 50 year old philosopher.

As Hikari mentions, he has done nothing wrong.

Ok he's done nothing wrong, as such, but how is it not self obsessed? Made more so because it was a completely unnecessary thing to write.

If he were to tweet something to pay his respects to Margaret Thatcher and ended with 'I hope she was a Belieber. RIP', is that just as ok?

While I'm far from a fan and things like this probably don't help his cause much it does appear that young Mr Bieber attracts more than his fair share of opprobrium. Certainly prior to this I'm still not entirely sure what he has done to irritate people so much beyond releasing some rubbish pop music.

I don't think it matters who he writes it about...all he is saying by the phrase 'Hopefully she would have been a belieber' is that he hopes she would have liked his music and given the tone of the entire entry, that he would have been honoured by it.

I would like people I am inspired by and in awe of to enjoy and like my work also....am I being self-centred in hoping such?
