Justin Bieber- what a hero

I would like people I am inspired by and in awe of to enjoy and like my work also....am I being self-centred in hoping such?

Yes, if you make such a statement in what is basically a place of memorial. I know all sorts of people write all sorts of rubbish, as Hikari said, but everything in the Anne Frank Museum should be about her, and not turned round into something about him. It's not really the place for mutual appreciation.

Edit: And ok, one might say why not- I don't know, there's obviously no right or wrong, it just feels like common sense...

It simply means we have a different opinion and I am not willing to ascribe intentions or psychological profiling to what appears to me to be a fairly innocuous and respectful entry in a guest book.

Lol, no one's asking you to 'ascribe psychological profiling' (!), only to consider the context of the comment rather than the comment in isolation. Context is very important.

I don't see it like that...I think he was showing his respect in one of the only ways he knows how. For example, when you are inspired and in awe of someone, either professionally or personally then hoping that person would like either your work or you personally is not about self aggrandisement, it is about acceptance of those who you look up to and are inspired by. He is saying, in my opinion, that she was such an inspiring person that he would have been honoured if she also liked what he does. I think that was the context of his comment, nothing more.

I think he is showing his appreciation for her by his comment, it is a basic mark of respect, like an acknowledgement or dedication in a book.....I don't think there is any deep underlying meaning into his psychology or reason to criticise him over it.

Whether he is narcissistic as a person, perhaps or perhaps not, the media play things to suit themselves, but I do not agree that his entry is something to be critical over.

Context is important, I agree...and I think the context is one of respect and inspiration, not one of self obsession and aggrandisement. I can understand why people might think it is a self obsessed comment, I simply do not agree that it necessarily is such.

Like I said we have a different opinion, it is subjective so there is no right or wrong.

excellent, but why?

Kid tried to have a fistfight with a man (paparazzi) who would have minced him. It was the result of a pubescent mood swing. But after he retreated (picked up and thrown by bodyguard) to his limo and actually thought about the situation he must have gotten **** scared and now wants to stay away from the UK.

I also think it's excellent. Give that paparazzi a medal tbh.

I don't think he meant anything offensive by the comment. Yea he irritates me tbh, he looks like a lesbian which is great if you are a girl but he isn't, I think.

I think its just people going overboard tbh, just because its Justin Bieber and he can be a bit of a plank, and he is famous so it draws more attention and criticism.

I would say exactly the same thing if it was my folk band-playing uni friend mentioning their own music in the guest book. Doesn't matter how famous he is, that just makes it more likely to be discussed.

Perhaps I simply won't bother commenting on anything. Clearly no one is interested in what I have to say on anything so perhaps its time to move on.

Goodnight.
It's not a question of interest in what you say but agreeing with it at all times. :) Concerning Beiber I just wish I was not so cynical.
