The OcUK Good Pub Guide

Birmingham: The Wellington - huge choice of ever changing real ale

Manchester: Marble Arch (food is amazing and they brew their own decent range of beer)

London: hmmm lots to choose from but none I'm over the moon with. I'm going to go for the Jerusalem Tavern because St. Peters beer is great, it's a lovely little pub and the staff are friendly. Lots of other pubs but they fall down on things like nasty staff or rubbish beer. The only problem is the pub is far too small for the number of people who want to drink there.

Bradford: When I lived there in 2005, the Corn Dolly was pretty good but I tended to be far from sober by the time I got all the way over there

South West - Wiltshire - Whitley - The Pear Tree

The best food I've had in a pub anywhere in England (to date).

For those that care, Marco Pierre White bought it not long ago but it was already great before. Not sure if he had any involvement with the menu.

Bristol

Clifton
The Mall - Good but straightforward pub. Very busy at weekends. Good quiz on a Thursday and friendly staff.
The Hophouse - Family-run, friendly and good selection of ales.
Clifton Wine Bar - Good for sports. Lots of screens with a good atmosphere but non-rowdy crowd.
The Albion - Quite pretentious and expensive but a nice atmosphere and good for an occasion or first date.
Amoeba - Bar rather than a pub, but not to be discarded. Huge selection of bottled beers and knowledgeable staff.

Centre
The Apple - Cider boat! Comes alive in the summer with outdoor seating and plougman's lunches.
Brew Dog - Brewery bar. Good selection of strong beers.
Milk Thistle - Bar rather than pub, but very unique and enjoyable cocktail bar.

Hope it helps someone!

Brighton you've got:

Wetherspoons
Wetherspoons
and erm, some other pubs.

Mostly wetherspoons due to the ridiculous price of most drinks! The Pavillion Tavern isn't bad, but its usually noisy as hell.

Good shout on The Pear Tree, Noxia.
Must also shout:
The Old Green Tree, The Star Inn and The Bell in Bath, and the Two Pigs in Corsham.

Many, many good pubs round here, but these are my personal faves...

Anyone got any recommendations for Norwich? My only one would be the Mischief on magdalen st, usually fairly quiet but a good little pub. Anywhere else I should check out?

I'd also recommend the Monkey Puzzle near Paddington, the garden is lovely in the sun!

I remember going into the Murderer's Arms? or something similar, nice little pub that served Murderer's Ale I think it was called which was nice.
