I need to put some new tyres on our C1 very soon.Anyone run All-season tyres?
Both the Goodyear Vector 4Seasons and Vredestein Quatrac 3/Lite get very good reviews, and about £45-50 per corner. The Citroen is only 68hp and 800kg,so it is not hard on tyres (155/65 14),and even on summer tyres it's ok in the winter snow.So thinking a good set of All-seasons will be fine all year.

Thoughts?

I've got bridgestone A001's on my Toyota Yaris.

Had them fitted in the late summer last year, they've been very good in the snow and cold they feel better than the budget summer rubbish that was on the car previously and grip a lot better in the corners even when it was 15+ degrees, still it'll be interesting to see when it gets into proper summer temps.

The only thing against them is they're noisy when cornering tightly say around roundabouts but you don't notice it on normal roads. Economy is slightly down on the previous winter but there's so many variables i'm not going to blame the tyre entirely.

So in summary i'd defiantly recommend them for any 'white good' cars, i wouldn't want them on a sporty car as they do have compromises.

Take it they're about the same price as the equivalent summer tyres? If not then I don't really see the point - as you say with a car that light I wouldn't have thought it'd need much help in winter

They won't do any harm. Very much a middle of the road type of tyre that won't be too out of place any time of the year so i'm sure they would suit the little citroen fine.

All im really getting at is if the car copes well on summer tyres and these are cheaper than all seasons as well as undoubtedly having a better selection that's what I'd go with.

Quatracs are decent in the snow (when compared to a proper winter tyre) and are simply outstanding compared to any summer tyre. Drove an Astra with them on, as long as the snow isn't deep enough to get suspended you'll go pretty much anywhere including some serious inclines which would have you rolling back on summers. :)
I'd recommend wholeheartedly.

Recently fitted 4 x Firestone Multihawks in 155/65/14 for £149 fitted and balanced at my local tyre place which was pretty good value going by web prices, to the wife's little Peugeot 107 shopping trolley. Although I admit they are listed as a 'summer tyre with all weather performance, all year round' apparently. Seem like decent tyres so far, at this price point everything available is much of a muchness. Down to what's available at the time for the best price as far as I'm concerned, the Firestones were exactly that for me.

I changed to Barum Polaris 2 all season, on the mini suv and found a noticeable improvement over this very cold prolonged winter.

The dry grip doesn't seem any worse than the Yoko's or Falkens that have been on previous. I suspect the wear will increase, I will have to see.

Being a small SUV a small loss in dry grip, if any is acceptable given the conditions this year.
