Really confused now :( HTC One or Samsung Galaxy S4

I feel the pain....
I am a pretty happy HOX owner, after having been a pretty happy Desire owner....
...but all up for changing to a new shiny thing (especially seeing as my Business will buy it for me).....and was all set on the One, figuring that 32GB storage would be ample for me, I love the screen (still) on my HOX and actually kinda like a fair bit of Sense.....plus BlinkFeed actually looks good to me.
But then along comes the S4 and I really think I have been seduced - actually have one on pre-order now, Sim-free.....but, between you fellow forum-ites and I, I may well change my mind again!

I'd forgot about multi-view, I just take that for granted now. I take it by what you said there isn't anything that does the same available on the market or custom ROMs on other phones (not pop out stuff as that doesn't work nearly as well for a lot of stuff)?

No way I'd want to lose multi-view with the way I use my phone at work.

Yup, AFAIK, nothing that works the same way at al :( Not sure about custom ROMs though but I haven't seen anyone mention it with the likes of viper, PA etc.

Kind of surprising that there isn't an app or some way with a custom ROM TBH! I am no app/ROM developer :p But I don't think that it would be that hard to create an app or implement a way in a custom ROM that could "host" two apps in one screen?

I'd say HTC One, as for 99% of the time you use your phone, any extra power the S4 has won't be noticed over the One. The One's aluminium casing and (imo) much superior design is certainly going to be the nicest to look at and hold.

If you won't be needing any more than 32GB, or to always carry an army of removable batteries with you, the HTC will be the better choice.

My personal experience with the One compared to an iPhone 5 (as no one has an S4 yet..):
Much better WiFi - faster, stronger signal and more reliable.
Much stronger overall signal.
Much faster for general use and browsing.

So if you look at the first batch issues, some have had problems, but I suspect a majority not to have had any.

I'd rather have a leg off than buy another Samsung phone.

Horrible design, and horrible launcher with Bluetooth that never works right on the numerous different phones of theirs I have had.

I too have noticed this from my old GS2 and girlfriends GS3. I think the aluminium casing must act as a big antenna.

Way too tough to call, I'd wait for both to be out with proper pricing and real world reviews on YT and your own experience in shops.

At the mo my favourite is the s4, based on build issues in the HO and its camera but the S4 may have similar build issues and model confusion/availability plus my own personal problem with the s4 is app data/downloads storage and use on its 9+gb usable internal storage.

Tbh I'm waiting to see what Motorola or Google put out given that I'm happy to wait till June before deciding.

Yup HTC did absolute wonders with the antenna, wifi etc.

The antenna design is composed of some active components, special antenna feeding structure and the metal ID appearance. All are in-house design and HTC owned IP. With regards to ensuring high quality reception for all the various types of radio frequencies, we’ve utilized proprietary adaptive antenna solutions plus special antenna feeding structure and built in redundancies to ensuring that attenuation doesn’t affect the overall antenna performance regardless of how the handset is held.

At least they are issues - the only reason there won't be 'build issues' in the G4S is because Samsung never wasted time trying to build any sense of quality into it in the first place. It's pretty hard to have quality issues on a handset with zero perceived quality in the first place, in much the same way as you rarely get design defects on those plastic trays you get in packs of Mr Kipling pies.

HTc one battery life looks/sounds epic, seems better than the GS 3, one S, XL etc. and they both had great battery life. some people are getting up to 7 hours on screen time with your standard sort of usage spread across a day. Some on XDA are even saying it is lasting just as long as their note II....

I expect the GS 4 to have better battery life, but I don't think there will be enough of a difference to be worth worrying about. It is too hard to say for definite though since no one has a gs 4 yet (review benchmarks in the battery area don't mean much at all really) and plus with a slightly bigger screen (which might not be as power efficient overall as SLCD 3 especially when it comes to whites/bright colours, however, it is a lot less brighter than the htc one), higher CPU clock.

There is a lot more to battery life than just what battery size is being used :p

Nexus 4 sucked before the 4.2.2 update due to software/driver problems, ever since that update it has much improved and is at least in the same league as the GS 3 etc.

I sold my nexus as barely ever got more than 2h screen time...when on wifi then yes, performed better but while out, not as good.
I do write a lot of emails on receive even more. Then there is music streaming for at least one hour per day.
And a lot of news reading ang general browsing.
Nexus wasn't bad but need more battery hence deciding on note 2 .
Now you say that HO has excellent battery life....not sure what to do know;) cancel Note and get HO? :)

Went to collect my HO today and forgot to pick up the bank card to set-up the DD school boy error!!

Reserved it and will be back tomorrow to grab it, the more I read the more I'm itching to ditch the iPhone 4s for this ...
