It'll soon be time to start looking at replacements for my RX-8. Thing is, I can't think of anything to replace it with...
Did briefly consider a new BRZ/GT86, but after driving it, the engine seriously lets it down. The rest of the car is excellent, but the engine is just sounds dull and has no get up and go.
Both me and the other half have a list of requirements, some of hers come from the list of cars I was initially looking at. She wants such things as a windscreen and a roof... Picky picky picky.
My requirements:
Rear wheel drive
Manual gearbox
Petrol engine
FUN at 'normal' back road speeds.
Around the same size as the RX-8 - this is due to where I have to park. it's all concrete pillars and it can be a bit tight when all the parking spaces are full.
Her requirements:
Roof, windscreen, doors and windows *see what I mean...*
2+2 or 4 seater
Heated seats would be nice.
Decent sized boot.
Prefer something newer than the '8 *the '8 is an 05 plate*
I do under 3000 miles a year, so something that makes me smile when I drive it is pretty important. The RX-8 does this with ease. No preferences on manufacturer, body style, engine configuration. Prices around £15k would be good.
So, what do you think I should take a look at?

It's not as if they're worth anything to trade in really. Would probably get more for it if I broke it for parts, which would be a hell of a shame, but it's not in the best condition cosmetically due to people opening doors into it and scratches from peoples bags and things like that.
