Hi
As in topic. Is it possible to run that graphic card on my PSU?

My spec right now:
cpu - i5-750
motherboard - ASUS P7P55D
PSU - OCZ Modextream PRO 500w
RAM - 4GB DDR3
GPU - RADEON HD5850 DCU2

CPU is overclocker to 3.8GHz - works stable.

The ModXstream Pro's are far from being the best PSU's out there, your particular model has 432W on the +12v but I think it should be alright.

The ModXstream series is a funny bunch...

The 500W has a total output of 598W with 432W on the +12v
The 600W has a total output of 670W with 504W on the +12v
The 700W has a total output of 718W with 552W on the +12v

No idea how they worked out the '500W', '600W' and '700W' names for those three

That is the maximum power draw on the transformer
Or safe power draw
But if the 12V can only handle 432W that is a problem :)
2 Years age will reduce power output
The word is that 1 year has a 10% impact on performance

You can only see if it works or not but get another PSU in a couple of months

Nvidia state a minimum of a 600W supply for the 580.

I think we all know that this is a very cautious estimate and that the card can run happily on a lower wattage supply depending on what else the supply has to feed of course.

I've always been a believer in leaving headroom when buying your PSU. Trying to buy a PSU that exactly fits your power demands leaves you sailing close to the wind and without any upgrade options. Cost isn't really a sticking point with PSU's, just pay a little extra and get a slightly beefier one.

The newer OCZ PSU's seem to be pretty darn good. The ModXstreams have a bad reputation and a bad write up however.

I don't want to hate on them, I own one (bit of a mistake on my part when I built my PC) but they do.
