*breaking news* Boston Marathon explosions

I ****ing hate live news reports like this. Constant stuttering, ums and ahs, repetition, pointing out the most mundane things.. Just shut the hell up until something interesting happens!

Sky News are the best for that, filling the airwaves with repetition and stupid comments.

the bbc seem to be waiting for confirmations before posting updates - which means they are behind whats going on but are not getting caught out so much

seems twitter doesn't care if its correct or not but just lets rumors run wild, some of the US news sites seem to be getting their updates from twitter too!

The FBI have asked the press to actually verify things before reporting them, which is what they should be doing anyway. *cough* CNN *cough*.

i dunno the idea of average citizens trawling through photos and identifying a bomber faster than the cia, fbi, police and world media is a little bit cool.

it's an impressive display of what you can achieve with enough bored people in their bedrooms.

Well thank you for addressing the actual point. And of course with your reputation you would see it that way. However, what happens if people such as yourself get things wrong. Are you going to be there when that person has the **** kicked out of them because you instigated and propagated a witchhunt against them? Are you going to give them a place to stay when they've been run out of town. This is exactly why people who get accused of crimes such as paedophilia have their lives ruined even when innocent. Because the mob bays for blood and people don't think through the consequences of their actions. If people think that is anyway cool then ... it's always cool or funny till it goes wrong. And for people who've been through this stuff then the lightheartedness and coolness is rather absent.

FBI know more than they're letting on, saying to reporters "can't say much now but we're progressing" or words to that effect.
No arrests but they've identified a suspect from footage.

Someone else with an inability to read. I quite clearly stated I expected he most likely meant no offense. Or did you just not bother reading that part. I challenged him to explain how such usage was in anyway appropriate. Maybe you should should step away from the thread because you need to settle down - or at least read the posts first so you don't ask someone to do something they've already stated quite clearly they have done.

Keep the thread on topic and be civil to fellow forum members, take this as a warning.

My reply to you was in good sense and meant as a friendly nudge. The above post there is absolutely nothing wrong with. It is rather "cool" that the internet have got involved and are studying footage and finding potentially credible information out. You replied very hostile when there was no need.

Thats not really 'confirmation' is it, the news agencies have 'confirmed' all sorts that later turned out to be totally untrue these last few days.

To be fair CBS were the only network that didn't jump the gun and report the supposed arrests and from what I gather now (been away fixing rents pc) this report from CBS about a HOAX is indeed correct!
Seems CBS is the station to watch in America if you want correct and accurate information :p
