Clutcn bearing going?

Does that sound like a clutch bearing?

Is the creaking noise you putting you foot on the clutch?
Does the noise start when you depress the pedal and does it stop when you take your foot off the pedal?

Indeed. When the clutch is in, it makes that whining noise. Happens in all gears. When I take my foot off the clutch, the noise goes away.

Gearbox will have to come out and new release bearing fitted. Might as well fit a new complete clutch kit while its out.

about £300 - 400 average at a independant garage all in

Labour time is approx 4 hours so times that by the labour rate of your garage, an LUK clutch kit including the slave and release bearing is £116 from Euro Car Parts. Add a bit for gearbox oil and you wont be far away.

when my release bearing disintergrated and shot the ball bearings everywhere

garages wanted £300 to fix it.
clutch kit off ebay for £45quid and did it myself!!

I wouldn't even bother, it's a common fault with these and the noise can just come back after a few hundred miles. Get it swapped when the clutch is changed or if the noise becomes very intrusive.
