I thought the game was utter garbage, also finished it, would not recommend it to anyone.

I dont follow along with this. The game wasn't garbage imo. The story and visuals were excellent. I just felt that the combat was completely repetitive and frustrating. Then again I played on hard I would recommend anyone buying it to play it on easy so you can fly by the combat sections.
Just finished this. I'd rank this as my favorite game of all time. Well up there with the Half Life series as a joint first.
The story is excellent and combat hugely satisfying. I was crying out for more when it ended.
Will be very interesting to see what the DLC brings. Hopefully it adds more to the story and not just new weapons or vigors.

I kinda flicked between Medium and Hard. I found a huge difference between the two levels on the boss fights, but not so much otherwise. I stuck with hard as long as I could, then toned it down just to get through particular battles. Especially when I realized I was losing money

So you thought the game was 'utter garbage', but you played it to the end. Strange. When I'm doing something that is 'utter garbage' I stop doing it quickly. Why prolong the agony ?

This is my view. Visuals and story are always of the highest quality. But the gameplay just doesn't match.
Being honest, I really enjoyed the gameplay. I cant think of anything that would have made it any better. I loved using the different Vigors fighting from skylines etc. I found the combat really fun and not too hard or easy in hard mode.
Only thing I would have liked is another weapon slot as I ended up using the same weapons a lot of the time as i didnt want to drop them. Would have been nice to have a pistol, rifle and an explosive weapon in my inventory.
I don't "get" Bioshock. I didn't like the other two despite everyone showering them with praise, and needless to say, I just can't get into this one either.
I'm not entirely sure what it is. The theme, the controls, the feel of the gameplay, the events and weird story arch? It just doesn't interest me or compel me to push on at all.

Bioshock just isn't fun, but Fettel in FEAR 3 was, now he could lift them up off the ground and Zap them as well, so the idea of the special powers works fine, it just has to be in the right game !!!!! it also works well in Bulletstorm doesn't it.
but these games only had one power, it was very easy to use, but Bioshock drives you crazy, it has way too many varients, it confuses you.
as a shooter only, which is fine...Bioshock needed to be a much smarter version of Bulletstorm, mind you, you cant get any dumber can you
but as a stealth game....more like Sam Fisher/ Deux Ex, but Bioshock is RPG/ old School shooter together in one game, no this doesn't work, now why it doesn't work as an old school shooter is quite interesting :- AMMO, there aint enough to stand there and just blast away, it really is as simple as that !!

Bucking Bronco + Shock Jockey = Lift off ground and zap.
Bioshock has never ever been an RPG... It's just a shooter with an excellent story.
As for ammo, I can't say I ever found myself short. There's lots around, you can buy it from vending machines, and Elizabeth is constantly throwing it in your face...

I hated the game , but i did finish it, i thought it would get better. The story i thought was extremely dull, the visuals at times where nice, but not all the time. The combat as already said was terrible. There just was so little about the game to like for me. I know everyone has there own opinions, this is just what i thought of this game.
But then Dishonoured i also thought was awful and many liked it, so i guess its each to there own.

I don't respect certain peoples opinion because certain people are not even indipendant thinking beings they are sheep told what to think by social media friends and the internet.
The story as an example in no way what so ever can be described as amazing yet here we are a thread full of people saying it's the best story ever it's just laughable really.
If the gameplay is bad and shallow then you don't even have much of a game to begin with, end of story, pardon the pun.
What this thread has shown me is that more and more gamers are turning in to console tard graphics whores and just want an easy nice looking a to b ride like god of war games uncharted that sort of thing.
It's all about the gameplay for me as without that core it could be the best story ever written and still wouldn't hold my attention I cant even be bothered to finish this game the gameplay is THAT bad as I say this I've just uninstalled it and wont ever be going back to it and wont be missing out on anything.

What would you consider to be an amazing story, for example? And how can you possibly comment on it if you haven't even finished the game?
