Games you didn't finish, and why

Deus Ex : Human Revolution: Got bored.

Bioshock 2: Got bored, too similar to the first one.

Metro 2033: Too hard, couldn't get out of the library about 7 hours in.

Amneisa: Bored after less than an hour.

Assassins Creed: Restarted a few times, got frustrated by timed missions.

Assassin Creed 2: Game annoyed the hell out of me by basically too much faff at the start. I just wanna play.

Bastion: Wouldn't work with Xbox pad, it kept pausing and hated keyboard controls.

Borderlands 2: Played over 100 hours of the first one, the second was too much like the first.

Bulletstorm: Got bored.

Crysis 2: Game kept crashing , got bored.

Dead Space 2: Too similar to the first game which I did complete.

All the GTA games: No matter how much I try, they just don't grab me.

Homefront: Pretty poor game, unsurprising that it remains unfinished.

Max Payne 3: Yawn (completed the first 2)

Mirrors Edge: Restarted a few times, kept getting killed by guards.

Hitman: Absolution: Boring game.

Mass Effect 2: Completed the first one after several restarts, didn't think it was as good as it was made out to be. The second one just didnt' grab me at all even after 6 hours of playing it.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R sequels, prequels; Finished the first game, again the follow up games weren't different enough.

Sleeping Dogs: Suffers from being like GTA, which as posted above I can't get into.

The Witcher: Gave it a few hours, combat was clunky and there was too much of the "go there, get some of those and bring them back" type missions to start.

There's quite a few other games in my Steam account that I've played very little of but can't be bothered to give any time to.

Epic list of unfinished games

I wonder if the people who are serial unfinishers just have lots of other hobbies...

Every game I don't finish nags at me :p Sometimes that nag grows until I give it a second chance. But those I ragequit get put on the **** list and forgotten :p

Sometimes a game just gets paused, like Skryim, and I genuinely don't know if I'll go back to it or not. Skyrim is awesome, but too massive not to take a break from it.

Half Life.

Zen was ****.

You mean Xen? the alien world, yeah it did kind of put a dampner on the mood didn't it, still an amazing game though.

Half-Life 1, it's just a terrible game.

Not sure if trolling, but on the off chance you actually thought the game regarded by a large majority of people as the best FPS ever made at the last count, and possibly one of the best games ever made, was "terrible" then to each his own I guess

Rage : Utter garbage, go there & come back crap. Got boring, fast.

The last hour or so is actually extremely reminiscent of Doom II, wish the rest had been lol.

I wouldn't say I was a serial unfinisher of games.

I'd say that most of todays games haven't changed much in gameplay terms for ten years or more, so boredom sets in very quickly.

Max Payne 3 is basically the first game with better graphics.

Crysis 2 is the same as Crysis and Warhead but with less space to work in.

I'm 9 hours into Bioshock Infinite and I'm failing to see why it got universal critical acclaim. There isn't anything in it so far that's not identical to Bioshock in gameplay terms. Yes the story and setting are different, but you are still basically playing the first game again.

Assassins Creed 3.

I really enjoyed Assassins creed 1 got a bit repetitive though, Assassins Creed 2 was really fun, Assassins Creed Brotherhood and Revelations were both a bit meh to me. But I just got completely bored whilst playing the Haytham Kenway part at the beginning and have never be bothered to go back and play it.

Still not finished Far Cry 3 because the story just shoots itself in the foot halfway through. You've been chasing a psychopath for a while who has done a damn good job of trying to kill you too... then suddenly he's dead and you're expected to go after his boss just 'because' he's the boss.

Yep, i haven't touched it for like 3 weeks after that, the game got stale.

I do finish a lot of games but some I haven't finished are....

Silent Hill - FREAKED me out! - I get so into games that I almost become the character, this game was constant fear for me :S

Dragon Age 2 - Really enjoyed this game but stronger titles were released while I was playing it so I stopped playing.

Call of Duty Black Ops2 - Lets see....well they release a new game less every few months, I guess I just got bored of the same old.

Mass Effect 3 - Downloaded it from the PSN last month, I thought it looked dire and I didn't quite see what all the fuss was about.... maybe I didnt give it enough time.

Sim City - Stopped playing due to limitations, the city size is not big enough - I love this game but its been well publicised that the game has its problems.

Kingdoms of Amalur- It's just crap...I gave it about 8 hours though.
Arkham City- Meh, not a fan of the gameplay at all. Got through Arkham Asylum just before it got stale.
Game of Thrones- It is not a bad game at all actually, especially if you are a fan, but I reinstalled my OS, and forgot to backup saves.
Dead Space 2 - Just can't get in to it. Loved the first one though.
Saint's Row The Third- Thought it was awful. Another one that I gave a good go
Just Cause 2- Same as Saint's Row really...no structure to it.
LA Noire- It just got a bit tedious.

That's me! Except my hobby is half finishing games....

My completed list over best part of 20 years across 8 consoles and an unhealthy amount of pc games is maybe 20 at a push (though a properly completed pokemon yellow is the proudest on the list).

One day I'll sit down and do a few, maybe when I stop playing open ended games all day long!

braid. it's too bloody hard for my stupid brain cell.

i've never given up so early on a game. :(

i also have to mention grid. it's just an appalling game. i know it's popular but i cannot fathom why. :p

Borderlands: Well I did actally finish this, then bought all of the DLC because it was in the Steam sale for £1.19 a go. Then my HDD broke so I lost my save. Never touched them and probably never will.

Brutal Legend: This came across as a right laugh but the control and moves that you have to know are surprisingly complex. Not complex by other games' standards but there's quite a few 'hold this and that then press this' type moves that you have to remember to play the game. Brutal legend just doesn't justify it all and playing the game in quick bursts now and again didn't work for me. It would only ever have been a bit of a laugh anyway.

Fallout NV: I've got a theory on FO3 and NV and that is that you will love whichever one you play first but many people find it hard to get into the 2nd one they play. I did 80-something hours on 3 and even though I loved it, a big part of me (looking back) was bored with it. I've since done 40 hours of NV but much of that has been in 20-30 min stints. Maybe one day.

Mario and luigi. the first one on the GBA. I played through the whole game and enjoyed it, even though I don't remember much about it. The final fight is 3 bosses back to back that take a while. also, it's one of those fights where you soon learn that if you don't get to a certain point without at least X amount of life, then there's little point carrying on. I was on that fight for about 2-3 months then called it a day

games that i got a fair way into but never finished, Usually because i start playing another game and it takes over:

Dragon Age 2 - didn't think it was that bad, not as good as the first which i did finish, may start again at some point

Crysis 2 and 3, i dunno just got bored, will finish at some point.

Baldurs Gate, played this from gog recently, quite enjoyed it but fell by the wayside eventually, might buy the second at some point and do the combining mod... or play the first on android when the special edition finally comes out.

..And countless more i played for 1 evening max and never played again!

I don't think I have ever finished a game in the last 10 years apart from FarCry, which I completed on every difficulty.

Most of my games on Steam have only a few hours on them till I get bored.

My most recent one that i didn't finish was Darksiders . i found it to be very boring and lack a sense of direction which put me off playing it after a few hours.
