Gaining weight with a high metabolism

Right first things first, I have a really high metabolism, I can eat what I want and can't gain weight. I can easily eat 2 large pizzas in one sitting and did this for a week with literally no gain.

I ride downhill as well so I need to eat as much as possible as it's a strain on my body after a whole weekends riding.

Does anyone have any advice on what to eat? I should point out now that I don't like fish, bacon and mushrooms.

Ah this old chestnut.

You need to track exactly how much you're eating, and post your calories here.

What's your height/age/weight?

2 large pizzas doesn't give us much to go on.

4 pizzas a day for 2 weeks.

As mentioned above log what you eat then increase the week after by 30% or so and see if you put on weight.

Eating rubbish for just 1 week wont make a whole lot of difference to your body's composition.

Edit: You're 6'1" and weigh 9.4st?

If you have a smart phone and some scales it's very easy. Download myfitnesspal which you can use to search for foods or scan the barcode. Use the scales for things you need to measure. Once you see how much you're eating in terms of calories we can work form there.

I should point out now that I don't like bacon.

Ok, ok. Yeah I don't like bacon.
6ft dead and yeah 9.4st, I'm a scrawny bugger.
I'll try to weigh as much as possible but I'll make sure I write down everything I remember.

If you don't have a structured diet this would be the first change to make. Just making things up on the go isn't going to see you make progress.

That's fair enough, is there a decent online meal planner I can use? If that would help? Is there any particular foods I should be going for, like pasta?

Need to know what and how much you are eating and what and how much exercise you are doing.

I'm betting on you not eating anywhere near as much as you think.

There's a very high chance this simply isn't true. If you were to log to the amount of calories you're taking in on a daily/weekly basis, and measure your weight during this time, I'd guess you're likely to see that you're not eating that much.

There's only slight variances between metabolism in normal healthy people, and not enough for it to be a good enough excuse. I used to think that I was just destined to weigh nothing, but then after actually setting myself a calorie target each day and sticking to it, I've seen myself gain a few kilos :)

sort your goals, sort your motivation out and get your self in gear before you create a thread :)

a lot of this info can be found online tbh.. and your weight/height ratio is stupid.. you must be a walking bone wreck! sort that out.. eat a lot but eat healthy, it'll cost more but you'll soon notice how things change :)

and one other thing TRACK TRACK TRACK your food, your workouts your everything!

It can be done quite easily really, but the hard part in understanding how diet works, its a bugger of a thing really as no one is really the same, before I started lifting at the age 0f 26 I was 6'2 and about 8st 5, now at 32 just about 15st pretty solid though holding some healthy pounds of fat.

Dirty bulking didnt do anything for me. was kind of a mixture of larger meals, pastas etc,and more smaller meals during the day. so it can be done, though I would factor in with age things have slowed.

You've pretty much got the answer you need: record what you eat, whatever it is, its not as much as you think! At 6 foot and 9 stone, weight gain should be reasonably straight forward.
One good tip: condition yourself to eat a good breakfast within 15 minutes of waking up.
