Building a sub £400 system - what AMD processor?

8350 no point in going amd unless you get the 8350 although......an i5 3570k is the same price as the 8350 so.....

if you feel torn so did i, i used to have an athlon machine as my first buildt pc and i was going to go bulldoser but it was pointed out to me the performance difference between amd and intel and i had to go intel

why does everyone say the 3570k is the same price as the 8350 when its around £50 cheaper?? if they were the same price i would def have bought one

well i paid £139 inc next day delivery for mine just over a week ago and i just checked still available for that price think ocuk have the 3570 at £189 plus delivery

Most people here don't pay delivery.
1.) That's 40 quid.
2.) The OEM's listed above at 179, so that's 30 quid.
3.) OCUK isn't the only E-tailer to buy a 3570k from.

Richland APUs are around the corner, if you can wait. ~20% CPU and ~40% GPU performance boost over Trinity APUs in the same brackets.

At sub 1080 resolutions, AMD APUs are surprisingly capable

As for 8350 vs 8320, get the cheaper of the two, overclock and profit!

8320, no need to go 8350 if all you do is game and have no intention of going for a super clock. CPU has to stay at a modest clock with the stock cooler anyways. UD3 is a good board in terms of build quality and will easily be able to handle the power draw of an 8 core fx

I would get this over the 8320/8350 though if you can. What you save on motherboard goes on CPU since you don't have to worry about VRMs on an intel board.
