ASUS P9X79 pro not finding SSD!

Do you have another pc to plug the hdd into? It probably needs initializing

Try plugging it into different SATA ports too

^I had that with a few drives, fairly sure you can initialize it in something like gparted if you can't get into an os.

it sets the drive up ready to format ect

if you can plug it into another pc,then you can click start/right click my computer/manage/storage/disk management and initialize or create a simple volume

the drive should then show up in windows, and youll be able to install to it

Gparted is a live disc drive management program. Wazza's method is probably easier if you have a spare machine to plug it into :)

I managed it but by finding out the Shift + F10 in the set up screen gives you a command prompt where you can format drives and assign them, it picked up the SSD but didn't give a name for it and having 3 500gb drives 1 of which was SSD was trial & error in finding it!

From there I formatted it and sorted!

Wot a load of messing about though.

Cheers for help though :)
