I'm looking for a beard trimmer, doesn't have to be anything special, just under £20 if it's possible to get a good under that price. Any recommendations?

You can get them for £10 in Argos... They also sell trimmers for upwards of £50 (tho I have no idea why you would pay that!)

I've had a couple of the cheap ones, they seem to be rebranded generics. The battery doesn't tend to last beyond a few charges tho :/

I bought the Barba due to all the excellent recommendations on here. I can't fault it. It has enough settings to have any length I ever need and the battery last for weeks before a recharge. I'm not quite sure what I did before it.

I have a Babyliss i-stubble which is pretty good... can adjust the blade length to go from a short stubbly 0.4mm to any length short beard up to 5mm. Holds a charge and is easy to keep clean. Was about £30 iirc but can probably be had for cheaper.

I too keep my beard in check with a Remington Barba.

It can be used plugged in or on battery power, and it trimmeth the beard superbly.

I've had my Barba for a few years.

It no longer holds a charge for more than about half an hour.

I think I'm about to buy a new Remington Barba. I've had it for a few years now and the mechanism that holds the blade has started to break free, I'm sure it will also be blunter and the battery doesn't hold a charge for more than one shave.

As I said in previous threads, I've had various Philips, Braun Cruzer, Babyliss i-Trim etc and the Barba faired far better than any of them. I did have a look at what else is now on the market, but looks like the Barba remains the solid choice.

At the end of the day, replacing something like a Barba every few years is a fraction of what you would be paying if you were shaving everyday with blades from the likes of Gillete and Wilkinson Sword.
