new windows 8 phone

hi

i love windows 8 phones, but i am confused as to what to get as a cheap 2nd phone and one for the missus to replace a WP7 HD7.

phones fu guy feed me some crap about the HTC 8S is the best they do and all nokia's apart from the 620 were recalled for being rubbish and breaking down - i thought that was bully. the only nokia i saw on P&G was the 620.

any thoughts? need a good camera on it and fast. 4" plus screen to.

The recall bit is a load of ****. You can almost get all Nokia's on PAYG and they tend to have decent cameras. Depends on your budget really.

Nokia Lumia 520? £120 for the phone...

And screw the P4U, they're trying to pedal what they've got overstocked / not shifting. The HTC isn't brilliant but great if you prefer a smaller sized phone. Almost all phone these days are 4" minimum.

Yep, they're either trying to sell it because it's not selling or because that's the phone they get the most commission from.

I dislike W8 (tiles should die

), but afaik the Nokia ones are the best whichever price bracket you're looking at

You will have the choice of the 520, 620 ( best value I think) or the 720, the 720 having a damn good camera in it if that's important.

The Lumia 720 which should be showing up soon has apparently got a great camera for a mid-range device. Worth looking into.

As always with mobile phones salespeople - ignore.

yes, i asked to see the htc and when i enquired about nokia he spouted the ****e. i like nokias and i'll need a good camera for the missus. 720 seems good. 620 for me.

720 for bigger screen and good camera. 620 for smaller screen, worse camera but better overall value.

The 520 is cheaper again and pretty much the same phone as the 620 minus the clear black display. It's £99 on PAYG.

the 8x is on offer at clove, might be worth a look too ? bit more expensive but still a good phone !

I think the camera modules themselves are identical between the two phones.
