Ok got my first build cpu is usually 40 c while gaming. But my xfx 7950 dd is getting temps as high as 80 c on games like crysis 3 am I being paranoid or what I did enable manual fan in catalyst which brings it down but some reson on auto fans are 30% when gaming till hits 70 degrees is this ok or should I be worrying its also a single monitor setup

Doesnt surprise me tbh, Crysis is a tough game and really pushes any gpu.

how old is your xfx 7950? I assume its brand new, have you checked the internet for reports of your gpu getting too hot?

My 7970 gets to around 65-70 with a sapphire cooler.

whats your case airflow like?

Case flow is ok although I do have a mass of cables from non modular psu tucked in hdd bay but air flow seems okay but when I put fans at 65% I hit mid 50-60

My XFX DD hit bout mid 70s gaming, i think it was after i overclocked it though, its proberbly just your ambient temp is higher.

I'm going to hi-jack this thread ( because I was going to create a similar thread ) - I've noticed my gpu tem gets to 70 (while playing Diablo 3 - vsync is off) and my gpus is overclocked, and was wondering myself if the temperature was reasonable and if I should create a custom fan profile (or rob someone elses ;) lol )

edit : just to clarify my idle temperatures are 100% no problem with them
