With everyone buying Fringe I started to watch it on Netflix from the beginning. About 5 episodes in so far and correct me if I am wrong, this is like X-Files?

You have an FBI Agent, but with a genius and his dad investigating strange cases.

There is the supervisor to the Agent (why is he always bald?).

There is the seemingly evil cooperation in Massive Dyamics, which I guess is the long story arc.

There are various fillers in between, and conveniently all these people that popped up were linked to experiments the dad did some 17+ years ago!

Does it get any better?

They are like £30 arent they?

Been thinking of getting one for the car, any good?

I rate it very highly, it plays all and everything I want it to. I don't want video or fancy bits and bobs. (Also can't afford them :D)

Layout is exceptionally easy to use (no need for manual easy), it connects like a USB drive so no fancy software etc. Battery is superb I've found, size is a major factor + it clips on (duh :p) really nicely to things. Makes running a pleasure.

Like others have said, a major strength is in it's acceptance of cards. Literally push in the side and thats it!

I was kind enough to have a friend who gave me an old 16gb, so I've instantly got a 20gb player! More than sufficient for me. :)

And who can forget the price? Got mine the other day for £27.50 brand new. (They come with headphones).

Well £17.50 considering I had found my £10 note. Noodles for a week and I'll be grand! ^^

Overall very chuffed. Makes all the difference listening to John Denver on the bus and wishing I was back home. :p

they're fantastic little players. with 32GB microSDHC cards for around 15 quid and the player costing 30-40 with 4-8GB internal storage, that's some serious capacity for the price.

for anyone that has one, i highly recommend installing the 3rd party firmware rockbox. it kicks all sorts of ass.

I also have one ans love it. They're fantastic value. I'm a sucker for losing these kinds of things so I won't be so upset when I lose this like I would if it were an iPod, for example.

Nice one guys, ordered a 4GB blue one for the car :)

Will also use it for running in the summer when I've got no pockets for the phone!

What does the Rockbox firmware add?

It gets a lot better after Series 1.

I would choose Fringe over True Blood, random I know.

It's a charcoal starter. So instead of putting it in the BBQ and having to wait an hour+ to get the coals ready. You can prepare coals in like 15mins in this and add to existing coals too.

Much better, Seaons 2 and 3 are the strongest with 5 being the weakest.

I think I really enjoyed Fringe due to the fact that the 'events' are based on actual science (Fringe Science). Season 1 just slowly introduced everyone and then Season 2 got epic. Stick with it and I promise you, you will be taken for an amazing ride. There are also some twists and whatnot and everything is not how it seems...

This was not bought, but a gift from the Applications Manager at work.
We help develop new circuits for the 3rd Gen Pi, so he gave me a 2nd gen to mess around on as we have loads of test units, pretty neat! gonna mess around with it this weekend.
