Hey guys :)

I'm looking for a cheapish (<£50) desk for my room. Has to be able to hold my Mixtrack Pro, 13" Macbook, a pair of Yamaha HS50Ms, decent sized MIDI Keyboard with a decent amount of room to spare :)

I've been looking at Ikea but they don't seem to have the right thing for me at my price range, so are there any better alternatives?

Thanks :)

Chances of finding something capable of holding all that kit for <£50 may be a tad unrealistic.

To be honest if I were you I would be looking for something with more than £50 worth of quality as well, not just size.

Buy any normal desk about 120cm long with a full length pull out keyboard shelf for your midi keyboard, Then buy yourself an mStand for your macbook and place speakers on desk :) Im sure most places sell a reasonable desk to do the above.

Your cheapest option would be to buy a length of kitchen worktop/board etc then mounting it on the wall yourself, adding some legs etc.

How much were your yamaha's and how do you rate them? Sorry I can't help on the desk front, just in the market for some monitors.

122.50 each, and i haven't got them through yet, waiting for my Dad to order them (21st birthday present :))

I should have specified that it has to be a free standing desk as I'm renting and will be for the forseeable future :)

I'll have a look at the suggestions, thanks :)

Thinking about it, would it be cheaper to build one myself? If I got the wood cut at B&Q or something.

Wickes work surface mate. 2 meters of surface for 35 pounds add legs from ikea @ 2.50 a leg or from wickes @ 4.50 a leg. Plus afew screws. Shouldnt be more than 60 pounds total

EDIT: Ikea cable basket underneath afew holes for cable routes and the circle cable route covers.. Shouldnt be more than 70 inc these

Not so much about the length (giggidy) - it's more a case of ergonomics. Would prefer to be able to add stands to move the speakers to head height, as well as be able to move it (I'm a student, I switch house pretty much every year :)
