There is a Don in this video...

Yes, lots actually.

I spend all day working furiously to bring money into this nearly bankrupted nation, I'm not going to sit aside and watch it (potentially) being wasted without stern words.

I'm sure your words of wisdom on a computer forum really go towards stopping that waste.

I'm told it is a beautiful city (in parts ;)), I've already done Edinburgh and will be in town anyway.

Plus there's nothing but The Twig in Bathgate. :D

Nah, that's just jest, Glasgow is a very cool city and significantly dwarfs Edinburgh.

There are some very nice parts to Glasgow. It's the same as anywhere though, you always have pockets (or suburbs) of deprivation.

There aren't reserved for here, it's just an ingrained habit.

It's natural for people to complain about irresponsible state spending, it's not exclusive to politicians or civil servants either.

flash mobs are great but the "keep calm" brand does my box in. my company went right over the top with it, now it is shoved down our throats at every moment.

Even if they had spent money on it, is promoting a positive image of the Police really irresponsible?

Face it, you just like to moan because it makes you feel big and clever.

I either moan because I'm grumpy or disagree with something. I don't need to make myself feel big and clever I can do that in other ways if I really must. I did jump the gun, I probably should have read the article or read the OP better, I made an assumption that was wrong. That's about it really.

It depends on what you would suppose is promotion of a positive image, and if that would fit the bill. It would certainly raise police profile, but I'm not sure it would really warrant use of public money to organize, their intention to highlight rights is certainly good. That they done it in their own time is excellent, but I would rather conventional forms of awareness campaigns, on the "beat", are the ones that are afforded budget.

I'd be interested to know just how successful flash mobbing is, I've always felt people could be a bit confused by it.

So what would you deem a suitable awareness campaign?
