Is this Ipad retina deal any good?

I've had an ipad 2 for a while and if I'm honest I AM happy with it. my mobile network (t-mobile) have just called me and offered me an Ipad retina for nothing upfront and £26 x24 months for a 2gb tariff = £624. Checking their site the same ipad + tariff is £199 upfront. To buy a 3g/4g ipad retina seems to be £499 so this is effectively £125 for 2 years of 2gb/month and interest free paying off the ipad or have I missed something?

Just wondering if this is a good deal before I let myself think about it further :)

First question would be... is it a 3rd or 4th generation iPad?

99% sure its the iPad 3 as I have been offered the same things many a time by t-mobile.

TBH if you don't need a new iPad I wouldn't spend. The iPad 3 has a better screen, bigger battery to power that screen, more GPU power to power the screen. It does look a lot sharper but it is also heavier and TBH I wouldn't pay that much just for the screen, if you had an iPad 1 I would have said get all over that ****. Personally I would wait for the iPad 5 before I would think of upgrading as that bring benefits in every single aspect.

don't count on that the ipad 4 has replaced the 3 altogether. you can still buy ipad 2's but not 3's at all.

If you look on tmobile's website it uses the A6X processor which is the ipad 4.

I'd say go for it you should be able to get £200 at least for your ipad 2 towards it as well.

I love my ipad 4 its amazing if you have photos that are high enough res for the retina screen you will love it.

Not sure, I got a similar deal 2 weeks ago and when I pressed the guy he said it was the iPad 3, might have changed.

What you said is all true its not a bad deal, never sell my items as there is always someone to hand it down too.

Try get the same deal for the iPad 4 (Make sure they understand it's either that or no sale) then that would be a no brainer, If not since you are happy with you're trusty iPad 2.. be loyal!

Yeah you can't actually buy the 3 anymore... Had the same issue with an insurance replacement so was given the 4.

Only thing that would counter that is if T-Mobile bought tons of stock of ipad 3s that are just sat doing nothing, but I doubt it.
