Hi Guys

Had this information from EK today regarding a name change to their Ram Cooling hardware.

EK Water Blocks, premium water cooling gear manufacturer, is announcing changes to the product naming in order to comply with the Intellectual Property Rights of Corsair Inc. As a result all our products from EK-RAM Dominator product line are being renamed to EK-RAM Monarch series products. The EAN codes remain the same. These changes are effective immediately.

The products are identical and have had no physical changes.

The new naming scheme is effective from now on the OcUK webstore.

Apologies for any confusion caused.

I would assume so.

Eddy seems to be very honest about it on their facebook page so I can imagine they were cool about the situation and came to a gentlemans agreement

Strange. The existence of water blocks like those is one of the main reasons to buy dominator over the alternatives. I'd expect Corsair to be in favour.

At least, I have dominator ram because these blocks are an option. I haven't got around to buying the blocks, but they're definitely why I have the ram.

I thought the whole point was that these blocks fit Dominator RAM straight off?

I recently installed my block last week and because i dont use Dominator RAM, had to use EK's Dominator RAM Modules. Which btw, look absolutely baddass and absolutely no pictures on the internet do them the jsutice they deserve. Had i known they looked this good, i would have got them way before i even watercooled and just had them as heatsinks.

They say 'RAM Dominator module adapter' on the things, will these be renamed when the next batch gets produced? (might buy them now so that they all match if i ever needed to get another 2 sticks of ram)

Im surprised about this also, does that mean corsair are going after other manufacturers who do "dominator" waterblocks?

TBH I associate Dominator with the motorcycle. EK should have gone with Dominatrix

@rjkoneill

How about a nice watercooling sale. One or two blocks AMD and Intel, fittings a pump and a reservoir on special offer or today only occasionally. Or a configurator with discounts, the more items you buy etc.

Just checked alphacool and xspc and neither list their ram blocks as 'dominator'. Alphacool previously did, but they appear to have been renamed RAM-cool.
