Need a new gaming PC

Interesting idea. That could work with my desk/furniture set up here.

But can you guarantee any 670 will fit in those cases? I remember with my last PC my graphics card only squeezed in by a few mm's and that was mid-tower.

You'll see examples on the web with a Titan GPU ;) One of the HDD cages can be removed to allow long GPUs. There are handy "pockets" on one of the side panels to mount the SSD. Clever little case really

If I was to remove one of the HDD cages, how many normal HDD's could I still get in there? 2?

I'm toying with the idea of a single SSD for the OS etc... and TWO HDD's for data and backup. Would a 670 still fit?

Hey guys,

Never got round to buying this, but now I'm ready!

But there's a few things out of stock from honosuseri's last basket (the bitfenix prodigy based one). Is there anything I should change etc.?

I noticed a few things have come up in price a fair bit. The 16GB is now around £100 for example.

Cheers!

The weekly offers change tomoz. If you won't buy it tonight it's probably best to wait and see that the new offers bring. You can order stuff that is OOS the parts will all be delivered once everything is in stock.

Yeah, I think I can wait until tomorrow morning :)

The things that are out of stock, have changed in price or I'm still unsure about, are the GPU, DDR and PSU...... and whether to get a heatsink that'll fit alongside this lot...

New deals are up...

Confirmed are:

Bitfenix Prodigy case
Intel 3770K CPU
KFA2 GTX 670 GPU
Gigabyte Z77N-Wifi mobo
Intel 520 240GB SSD
Samsung DVD drive

just need advice on:

DDR
PSU
and whether to use a non-stock heatsink?

Cheers

Thanks for the reply.

That's quite a big heatsink for such a small case... I'm sure it'll fit... but still. :) Was hoping for something slightly bigger than the stock, but more efficient.

Will be going for 16GB DDR too. PSU looks good... tempted to go modular though to reduce the number of the cables in the small case.

Still unsure on the DDR and PSU tbh.

The GeIL Black Dragon 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 looks good and doesn't have huge heatsinks which is ideal for this case/mobo, but the latency is 11-11-11-28 which is slower than a lot of others.

PSU... I just don't really know what I want :) Gah...

Liking the spec and price of the GeIL EVO Leggera DDR. Cheers.

I think on the PSU front, I'm concerned that they won't be suitable for the case. My thinking was go modular to simply reduce the number of cables in the case. But I guess I could just go for a non-modular one and hide them away (as seen in the video on page 1)... hmm...

If you were to look at the specs for the Silverstone, the dimensions are better suited than most Psu`s.

You said you won't overclock so you can just use the intel stock heatsink. If you change your mind you can add a CLC kit later on easy enough. The mobo is out of stock so you will have to wait, I used the Patriot RAM as it's due soon and the Seasonic PSU is great and has ample juice for a single GPU setup.

Best of luck with the build bud
