Am looking to get a 4th Gen 32gb inc cellular for the wife.

Prices seem fairly static all around from the reputable suppliers - I was thinking John Lewis for £579.

Is there anywhere wildy cheaper with a good rep and warranty?

Cheers!

Note that you can't mention competitors here, against forum rules.

OcUK's price is very good actually. There is a department store with two words in the name (that you may or may not have mentioned) that offers a decent two year warranty included in the price.

Ah - I didn't realise overclockers sold Apple products.... My bad really as I've never looked.

That's a decent a price as any and the warranty would be decent, as well as Apple care.

Cheers Gents.

Just to be clear, I was referring to the other store offering that warranty, not OcUK :)

Yeah as you've realised they tend to be fairly similar in pricing. I usually just go straight to the Apple store for convenience. I imagine they're slightly more expensive than a third party retailer.

For the most part they're all going to be roughly the same price. IIRC retailers aren't allowed to put Apple products on sale without authorisation. Going to the Apple Store is not a bad idea, just that going through the other store that has been discussed gives you an extra year of warranty service, and many have found that they are very good with warranty in the past (I've had a bit of experience with this as well).

I'm fairly sure JL give a 2 year warranty on electrical items. So I'd buy it from there. If there are any problems in the first year you can go direct to Apple anyway. If the ipad is excluded from the JL warranty scheme, them go anywhere.

I don't think you can go wrong with Apple themselves. Although certain well known places do just as good deals not much in it I'd opt for the convenient option.

or simply look at any ways to save.

I opened a store card when I bought my ipad to get 10% off first purchase or if you save points with a store you perhaps can use the points to get something off. Came with 12 months 0% finance as well so 10% off my pad and 12 months to pay. :D

its pretty much a fixed price by apple no matter where you go and servicing is done can be done by apple no matter where you get it from.

The only things you can do, is look for joining bonuses/discounts from a store, thou the price on the price tag will be the same; some places will offer membership points or first purchase discounts.

Secondly, there's the option to sign up for a contract with a mobile phone company, a lot of online stores will 'give' away a ipad if you have a lame contract phone or give a discount.

The only other option I can think of is to wait until the new ipad comes out, stores will discount their stock to apple's rrp but some stores may hold more than they want and give a further discount.

I just got mine from a high street catalogue company as it was in stock and no where else was at the time.

Well.... In typical fashion I've left it too late to order from online.

The apple store and JL are within a stones throw of each other in Cardiff so I'll take a wander there later.

Cheers for the replies all - pretty much confirmed that it doesn't matter too much where you get the product from.
