Just bought a silver HTC one sim free from P4U.

Moving from a s3 I want an upgrade to feel like an upgrade so I'm going to give what critics are calling the android daddy a try.

Will cancel my 2 s4 pre orders tomorrow and sell my s view case and 64gb sd card

If I don't end up liking it I can always sell it

Edit. where's the best place to get a sim free rolling contract?

Nope, though I think we're in a minority! :D

It seems that the HTC One is now the pinnacle in design for phones, even though it looks pretty average to me!
Anyway, it's a phone, that you put in a case then hold...who cares what it looks like

As long as it's an acceptable design (which the samsung phones have been since S2 imo) then I'm happy with it, specs are more important to me than aesthetics, and like you said, a majority of people use cases so it kinda defeats the whole purpose of a premium build phone :p
 
I also think the design of the HTC one is over rated, great looking phone but imo nicer looking phones "overall" out there i.e. one S, X, nexus one (for the time it was stunning! and still holds up well imo), nexus 4

I quite like the plastic too :)

I like the feel and Samsung's build quality. Some say the metal is more durable but I have never broken my phones so I don't think it is an issue for me.
 
If all you HTC ONE owners who are complaining about the S4's plastic just go and put it in a plastic case/cover anyway, then you're stupid :p

I can't decide which one to go for. As far as i can see it, the only advantage the One has is that it has a nicer "feel" and a better low light camera. Everything about the S4 is the same or better from what i have been reading :confused:

I have had an S3 since launch and its still like new so nothing wrong with Samsungs build quality
 
Also better speakers :p

Brian summed it up perfectly in his GS 4 review, you go for what is more important to you as there is no clear cut "winner"
 
Any chance of linking the place you bought the cover from? I am after a cover and a extra battery pack, as the main places I have looked at are all out of stock. Assuming of course the places you mention do not breach the forum rules ;)

Yep same here. My S3 still looks like new so I dont have any issue with the build quality.

The reason I wont be getting an S4 or any other Samsung phone again is the absolutely less than useless customer service and the fact that Samsung continue to deal with Anovo who are utter cowboys.
 
mobilephonesdirect have changed to order now for delivery in 6 working days, should have said 2 working days as of today, so not sure if thats going to effect all the current orders for the phone, or just the new orders placed, have not heard a peep from them so i am hoping that theirs no delay with my order. Tried calling them 3 times but dont have much time during the day and gave up after waiting 20 mins to speak to an adviser :/
 
Just called them, and after 22 minutes of waiting, i got through, i was informed that the phones are not being booked in until tomorrow, and delivery should be around wednesday next week depending on a successful credit check :/ so i guess no phones for people ordering from mobilesdirect until next week!
