Mondeo ST220 pads and discs all round cost

£120 for disks and pads (about £90 on trade account for garage)

2hours labour or 1.5 depending if the garage does this.

According to brakesint, it's around £120 for the parts.

£200-300 I'd guess you'd be quoted

Where are you based, an OcUKer may be able to point you to a garage or 'mate'

Hahaha really? Tell them to **** off.

Can you not do it your self? Really is a easy job and will obviously save you a fortune.

In all honesty I'm screwed for doing any work on my car due to living in an apartment.

Neighbours would have a hissy fit if I start pulling bits off the car.

But there is no way I'm paying the price asked by main dealer.

If its around £300 at an independent garage £480 sounds about right for a main dealer, dealers aren't in the business of doing work for an amazing deal, they're in the business of relying on people being too lazy to shop around.

I'm in the Cardiff area.

Was quoted approximately £480 by Ford main dealer which is an absolute disgrace.

Not really..

Ford parts will be more expensive than 'generic', they have more overheads than your typical backstreet indi garage.

For a Civic it's £250 front and £250 rear if you do it at Honda.

Still ridiculous when equivalent parts can be bought and fitted with an almost £200 saving.

You've just pointed our right there why its more, genuine parts are always going to be expensive regardless if they're actually any better than pattern/after market bits.

At the end of the day something is worth what someone else will pay for it, be it brake discs & labour or a ton of bricks. If people will happily pay it then that's the price, hence main dealers can charge a lot more because enough people will not care and just pay.
