*** PC Gaming - Daily Deals Thread ***

Haven't played it on PC but just finished playing it on the PS3 last weekend, did the co-op online with a friend. Nothing special really, some of the earlier levels were decent but the storyline is garbage, the weapons are all pretty much the same in terms of effectiveness and you can't control your team AI so they just run around doing whatever they want most of the time. Graphics were pretty ropey too.

Don`t know which game you were playing, but I quite enjoyed Future Soldier. No, there is no AI to direct your squad mates, only to take out multiple enemies. But then again how many of these types of games do?. And I also don`t recall them running around doing what they want. For the most part you need to be silent and move unobserved, so your squad mates like you, are hiding behind something or other. Also found the weapons more than adequate, especially as the sniper rifle is your primary weapon, so any other weapon I used was for close quarter combat, when needed.
As I have only played this on the PC, I can`t comment on the PS3 graphics, but I had no problems with mine. :D

 I said it above, it was the same game as you.

Quite a few, specifically the early GR games among others. It was more the fact that they just run around the environment to where they 'think' they need to be, but it often means they end up running straight past enemies (who fortunately don't see them) or they gallop off into the distance leaving you behind.

The weapons all felt the same, being able to modify stuff was quite cool but it barely seemed to change how effective they were, a short burst from any weapon was usually enough to drop any enemy (which is at least reasonably realistic) but it just meant there was no motivation not to use a suppressed weapon. Not to mention the actual weapon choices were bizarre, they had some ugly and obscure firearms in there whilst missing obvious modern choices like the G36 or FN P90.

Not really sure what I was expecting though, military shooters these days are all the same anyway.

If you research back like 4-5 pages you will have a lead there, if it is Splinter cell you are after.
