just after some help guys if thats ok.

I sorted a gaming rig out 18months ago so i need to make
sure it's up to running this game at 1920x1080.

I7 2600 @ 3.40 GHz
8 Gigs ram
GTX 560Ti (1024 GDDR5)
Windows 7 home 64bit.

I don't mind lowering the settings to 1360X768 if i have to.

also some questions on the game:

please tell me it's nothing like call of duty modern warfare 3?
I cant stand them games anymore.

can you practice offline with BOTS ?

are servers popular with lots of people to play and are they dedicated servers?

cheers guys, It's on steam for £11.99 so seems cheap enough.

It's nothing like COD no, but GO is a very cluttered game in regards to how the maps are made much like COD (they just look "messy" to me, preferred the clean look of css) <-- your perception of that may be different coming the other way though.

Yep you can practice offline and there's lots of people playing in various game modes, including mods.

It'll probably play it fine, don't know at what res though, i can't remember how good a 560 is but i think it should be good for 1080, it's still the source engine at the end of the day.

its not bad nothing like mw3 .

i dont mind playing odd round between playing cod 4 promod.

basically play this or cs or cod 4 promod if you fancy some good fps action without the bs. there are plenty of people on all those games.

Corrected that sentence for you ;) COD + Good FPS in the same sentence just doesn't sound right.

thanks guys. been ages since i played an FPS on the PC so my mouse
playing is going to be very rusty lol.

If you want something fast paced to get your wrist action on the go (oo err) try out some deathmatch servers. You don't have to care about dieing because you respawn instantly, it can get a bit fast paced at times if you find a huge server though so stick to something with like 24 players on rather than the big 32 player ones.

and if you REALLY want some fun without any seriousness whatsoever then search for zombie mod :D

ooooo deathmatch mode huh. sounds good. i think i'd prefer than mode.
cheers :)

Hi,

Yes you can practice offline bots you can even set up Bot servers with death match I have the settings somewhere for this.

Your pc spec looks fine to me it shoudl play at 1080p with +60 FPS which should be fine. (CSGO like CSS is cpu intensive not so heavy on the gpu)

AS a game it's getting much better valve are working very hard to balance the guns for competitive play which means their are updates which will throw your aim off from time to time.

But overall it's a very enjoyable game to play and their are some excellent UK communities for public server play and competitive play if you are tempted to take it more seriously.

cheers guys it all sounds decent enough.

how big is the download including updates?
i'll just leave it on over night i have 20mb Virgin media connection.

never bought a game directly from Steam do they accept paypal ?
