I managed to grab 2 x gold superstar floating rotors for the Mega (180 front and 160 rear) for the tidy sum of £25
Both were fitted but not used by the seller (wrong size at the front), and now that they have arrived I can see that they are indeed mint :) Delighted!

Take the pads out, it's only attached with Velcro. I do love the Royal lineup - the SP24/7 is such a good "do it all" short.

Well, I've owned numerous pairs before and couldn't tell the difference if they are fake. All labels present, inside mesh padding... you name it, it's all there.

These are a smidge more, but are the 2013 colours that retail at an awful lot more

Duly added to my watch list for that first link as I can't remember what size my other Troy Lee's are. I'm a fan of the Royal SP24/7 too, got a good price on them from anywhere?

Went out without my Camelsack today, just had my water bottle, multi-tool and phone. It's extremely liberating not having the weight on your back! I'm going to try this for a while on local rides where I'm always 30mins walk away from home if something happens.

Also went out in my new Sombrio X-Shazam shoes (David Blaine's favourite shoe).

I'm posting on phone so don't want to waffle but they're excellent so far, much lighter than my five tens, almost as grippy but allow you to shuffle your foot if you get a bit wonky, they're also a very durable leather(ish?) material. Half price on CRC atm (£50) with other cheaper models available. Definitely worth considering if you don't want to pay silly money for five tens or need something with more water protection.

Finally going to switch to 1x10 after buying a bargain 10speed XTR mech.

Currently run 11-34 - 24-36 rings. For those of you running 1x10 what front ring are you running?

Thanks

Was running 30t, now got a 32t Renthal, the difference between the two isn't huge but I wouldn't want anything larger if you actually have hills. A 36tooth cassette would be a very good idea too.

The Simano Deore M596 brakes I ordered arrived, I also bought the "bleed kit" from chain reaction but all the bleed kit contains is a little bottle of brake fluid and a hose :/ is this right? From reading the instructions that come with the brakes it shows using a little yellow funnel. The bleed kit has no instructions, just a safety guide. I've been googling and every shimano bleed guide uses the funnel, does anyone know anymore?

brake bleed for shimano - you just need a syringe for doing it properly.

Is this a good place for a spec me post? I didn't want to create a new thread if it's better off in here!

Basically, I am looking for a weekender bike - I do not want to rule out commuting entirely, however. There's plenty of paths and trails round here, but nothing serious. I don't have a huge budget, £300 or so, but I could maybe stretch a little further for the right bike. I'm 6'1", big build so I need something sturdy :D

I've read about cyclocross bikes - but they seem out of my budget.

Any suggestions for me?

Evans have kindly sent me a "Thank you for buying a bike with us" email.

I should send one back "Thank you for sending me it "

I really wanted it for the weekend aswell....................................................................

.

nice idea- might give that a go tonight out locally. Nothing that someone couldn't pick me up 10 mins in the car if needed.

Picked up bottle and cage 10 mins ago from shop round the corner.

Tubeless 0, nail 1.

Not a good sign when it cant seal one hole, it just ****ed sealant all over the floor after i pulled the nail out. So had to pull the strip out and stick a tube in.

What brand of sealant were you using and how much did you have in?

Not had a nail in my tyres but I often find when I swap my tyres rounds Ive had numerous punctures that I didnt know about.

To be fair a tube wouldn't have survived a nail attack so I guess you atleast got to ride part of your ride tubeless :p
