Been thinking of changing my car and was looking at this http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classif.../postcode/ha71nb/radius/1500/page/5?logcode=p

Does have quite high mileage, I know that warranty on it will therefore cost the earth and I know people keep going on about warranty being a must but would you run the above without a warranty? Any 335i owners here running their car without a warranty and regardless what sort of things have gone wrong and needed fixing?

Would you not prefer the Coupe? I've had my E92 335i for 20 months now and absolutely nothings gone wrong with it, although mine is under a BMW warranty (still under 40K miles). I think the warranty stays relatively cheap up to 60K miles.

Warranty was £84 a month for me fully comp with 0 excess. The n54 engine was immense but its not one I would consider running without warranty. Things that can and do go wrong? Hpfp, injectors (I had 2 replaced under recall and 2 replaced under warranty), lpfp, coil packs, vanos solenoids etc.

There are much better examples within your budget if you look at slightly older models. Is the e92 not an option?

I'm thinking of replacing my Accord and although I much prefer the shape of the coupe it really has to have 4 doors for lugging the family around.

I also prefer the much tidier LCI E90, the pre LCI backend looks plain horrendous, I do around 6-10k miles per annum and am looking at either an LCI 330i or 335i. The sensible part of me is saying stick with the 330i but my childs mind is saying 335i :)

funny, I just came from a new Accord 2.4 EX :)

least roomy 4dr saloon I've ever owned, rear space was abysmal, colleague at work has a 320d Saloon which isn't much bigger tbh, not their biggest selling point really, should you not be looking at a 5 series, or would that seriouly limit engine choice based upon available budget ?

Be ambitious, get a 335i.

Snap, current car is a 2.4 Type-S and I wanted something with a bit more grunt.

A friend of mine has a 2010 320d, he used to have a Saab before that and he's mentioned that the room in the rear is very cramped. If 3 people can't fit in the back it might be a no go.

5 series would have to be an E60, which I'm still unsure about, in terms of looks?

The 335i's are very nice cars, I had a few of them and still have a E93 335i.

Nothing has really gone wrong with any of the 335is I have owned. The one you posted looks like a lot of money for quite a high milage car with poor spec. I would really want a LCI if I was going for a E90.

Err that is an LCI.

I think I'll keep looking in that case, thanks for the comments and if anybody see a decent one around that sort of price feel free to let me know :)

It's a shame you are not after a coupe/convertible due to the lack of 3 rear seats, as there are some bargains to be had!

I got my current 2008(58) 335i Convertible, 7-Speed DCT with the newer CIC Navigation and 19,000 miles for under £17k! Serious car for the money, possibly the best value model around for the performance!

Good luck with your search, i'll keep an eye out :)
