I have an i5-3570k clocked to 4.3GHz using a BCLK/Bus Speed of 100 and x43 multiplier. If I have Intel Virtualization enabled in the bios of my Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H, my bus speed shows under CPUZ as 97.13MHz. If I turn it back off, it shows the correct 100MHz.

Has anybody else experienced this? I'm running Windows 8 Pro and using Hyper-V for VMs so having Virtualization enabled is handy. Is this a CPU issue with having VT-X enabled, or a motherboard/bios issue?

I had the same issue on the same mobo as you - I reinstalled Windows and it sorted the issue, so I wouldn't have thought it was actually running slower. I also tried a different version of CPU-Z (earlier version, 1.61 I think) before I reinstalled and it showed 100MHz. I would think it is just the software so don't worry about it too much :)

Edit: I never pinpointed it as VT-x before I reinstalled, but when I reinstalled I had VT-x enabled which might have changed something in the OS... but who knows.

It was just bugging me more than anything so wondered if anyone else had found the same issue. I did update to latest bios in case it was that but it didn't change it. Based on what you found, I might reinstall OS at some point with it enabled beforehand this time. As you say, the OS might recognise it being enabled and change something. Thanks for your insight :)
