MBA 11" - yay or nay?

IMO the 11" screen is too small. I was recently going through a kinda same decision as yourself. Between 11/13" Air or 13" Pro non-retina.

In fact went for the Pro due to it's upgradability and potential logevity of the device but none the less while looking at them the 11" just seemed too small.

Unless you are going to need 16GB RAM in the next few years then the 13" Air is the definitive purchase. The SSD in it is still upgradeable to an extent, not that I would put that much storage in a laptop these days. The 13" non-Retina pro doesn't have much going for it now there are better alternatives available.

Biting here too although I have an xps13

It's plenty big enough for me tho I looked at an11 incher but thought it a little too small.

I just acquired the 13" MBA a couple of weeks ago and I loooOOOooove it. Super portable, really light and the screen is lovely. For the slight difference in size I would definitely recommend this. Admittedly I've gone from a 15" Pro to this, but even so, cracking system for carrying around. I would get the 8GB ram though which is what I did.

Also - a mate of mine went travelling around the world not too long ago and was trying to decide between the 2. He went for the 13" and has never regretted it.

11" is a bit too small tbh i think.

The ipad is 9.7" and i couldn't emagin doing anything propper computer wise on its screen.

13" is really minemum unless your going to want to get eye strain staring at a small screen for extended times.

Common porns gonna look tiny on a 11"

Another vote for the 13" as well, the 11" is just over netbook size and after having used one for a period of time I wouldnt want to go back with a screen that size again

Wait if you can, the Air designs are pretty old now, and the screens are really not up to standard. I use the 11" regularly and the screen is by far the worst aspect of the device. Considering the iPad 4 is half the price, and the iPad 3 even less... the MBA screen is a bit of a joke.

Why get an Air though? Or are you lot content with the sole USP of it being lightweight/ wafer thin?

"you lot" charming... The spec of the MBA isn't exactly bad is it given the processor in the basic model is capable of speeds up 2.8GHz. The only disadvantage is you only have integrated graphics, but then this isn't a gaming machine, so the fact it's only dual core isn't an issue either.

Also given that he's said "for when I'm on the road" then lightweight and thin is clearly a consideration is it not?
